-28 We trust our bodies enough to go to sleep, knowing that we might not actually wake up again one day. amirite?

by VegetableAnt1412 3 months ago

Is it trust or is it our natural functioning

by Anonymous 3 months ago

right? like...i didn't realize it was a choice lol

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Or just a win-win? Whether I wake up or not, cool.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

We do it because of function. We're calm about it because of trust.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

only right answer

by Bartonbernice 3 months ago

Not going to sleep won't keep you from dying. In fact it might make it happen sooner

by Ok_Address3622 3 months ago

Yup. Look at fight club.

by Greta04 3 months ago

He blew his brains out.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Very casually spoiled the ending

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Damn it! I was going to watch it tonight.

by Denesiknellie 3 months ago

We do not talk about Fight Club.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Where is that from?

by Denesiknellie 3 months ago

Mmmhmmm. Yep.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

It's a fact that it will absolutely kill you.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

In about 11 days

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Yeah but 3 days is about the line where it really starts going downhill

by Anonymous 3 months ago

But we are talking about death. Apparently it's about 11 days. It happened to some dude

by Anonymous 3 months ago

There was a House episode on it

by Anonymous 3 months ago

at a certain point it's not a matter of trust it's sheer exhaustion...

by Available-Impress 3 months ago

The alternative is unavoidable and painful death.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Even if not painful, the torture your mental functions will do to you if you don't ever sleep. If scared to sleep because monster under the bed, just remember you become the monster if you don't sleep.

by caseyabbott 3 months ago

As somebody who lost a family member who went to bed with no diagnosed problems and was discovered lying peacefully as if she were sleeping, I can't think of a better way to go. It's those left behind who are shocked and dismayed. I think the reverse is true for a long term terminal illness. The patient suffers a great deal, but family members have had time to brace themselves for the inevitable.

by donavonaufderha 3 months ago

My mother got cancer and it was very painful before she passed away. Dying in your sleep is the best way to go

by Shea93 3 months ago

Simply not waking up one day would solve more of my problems than it would cause.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

After my divorce, I went to bed every night for months praying not to wake up.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

We go to sleep because we would literally go insane and die if we didn't.

by PitifulParfait 3 months ago

Unless there's some reason to be scared to sleep (night terrors, anxiety for the future, etc), the trust is so deeply seated that it's like breathing air. You fully trust the air around you directly from the womb.

by Certain_Name 3 months ago

I didn't realize there was a choice.

by New_Government9326 3 months ago

Two of my brothers went that way.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Wat other choice do we have ? Stay awake all the time ?

by Anonymous 3 months ago

A-a-a-autonomic nervous system, trust

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I had no idea we had another option…

by Many-Friendship 3 months ago

Insomnia is a thing.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I suspect that even if we didn't trust our bodies, sleep gonna come. As will waking up. Until it ain't.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Well I'm still here so If anything my body has broken my trust

by kshlerinellen 3 months ago

Bring. It. On. I'm ready. But not tonight. I have to work 7-3 tomorrow and I still want to play golf on Monday. I'm off that day. πŸ˜‚πŸŒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸŒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Sometimes I wish I don't wake up

by Melvinacronin 3 months ago

I don't, I just don't see any other option. Falling asleep is freaky and makes me uncomfortable.

by Pleasant-Tap3957 3 months ago

Yeah sleep is kinda scary if you think about it

by Reaganlind 3 months ago

Trust? Ha! I go to bed kicking and screaming all the way

by Anonymous 3 months ago

If I sleep into death, why would I care?

by Anonymous 3 months ago

"Just gonna have a quick nap" …. *dies

by Anonymous 3 months ago

You die faster if you don't sleep

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I go to sleep hoping I won't wake up one day

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I'm just too tired to care and have gotten used to the routine of addressing some needs without question. Once it happens it won't even matter, I won't know I'm gone. Worth the risk.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

The risk of dying in your sleep when you're not old is very low.

by Lutherschinner 3 months ago

Imagine you go to sleep and the next day everything is suddenly not your problem anymore

by AnyRing5157 3 months ago

Apparently Tibetan Buddhist monks place their (one) cup and (one) bowl upside down: to reflect their acknowledgement of the truth - that they might not wake up.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Brother, I'm hoping I don't wake up one day.

by Comfortable-Row331 3 months ago

Maybe that's exactly what our brain wants when we go to sleep

by estel71 3 months ago

Yeh gods this is depressing - but β€˜yeh', if I was going to go. On bed with me dogs. I rate my dogs over my husband but don't make me feel bad about that.

by Jazzlike-Composer411 3 months ago

Sleep's just like a sneak peak at death, ain't it? Except you hope to wake up from it

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I'm skeptical which is probably why my insomnia is badddd

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Hope so soon. Can't wait.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

If we didn't sleep we'd die, it's not really a choice

by Weak-Fly 3 months ago

Well I mean it's either a slow and painful death or me go sleep and my body flips a coin

by LandscapeLanky3571 3 months ago

Well you can trust your bike will break or just used it

by vallie91 3 months ago

In fairness, some of us don't care if we wake up. Not being dramatic, more just, "it's been fine. But whatever."

by Anonymous 3 months ago

We are mortal. There is nothing anyone can do about it.

by Armstrongbillie 3 months ago

Wdym. Every time I wake up i only feel disappointment.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

The way I wanna go out tbh. Unawares.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

That's the way to go.

by Ok-Sweet 3 months ago

Trust? No. Sleep just takes over.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Im looking forward to that night.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Not trust. We need to rest. Sleep is important.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

You don't control your body when you are not sleeping tho? Like what difference does it make?

by Krystelweimann 3 months ago

I don't have the strength to be awake 24/7, it's like I welcome death when the time comes. In fact it feels like I'm having courting death because I see her every day before midnight.

by JobMental 3 months ago

Ok then don't sleep. Lmao
