You got a script? I had to answer phones in an ER. The only thing I was told was "don't give out medical advice over the phone" ok simple enough... Cue calls from crying wives, clueless fathers, and panicked patients with nothing to say other than "I cannot give medical advice over the phone" which really just does nothing to help the situation. Took me about a month to come up with; "Unfortunately, we cannot give out medical advice over the phone. However, if you contact your physician they will have someone on call who will be able to help you over the phone. But if you feel that it is an emergency and you need to be seen please come in."
