+46 Going from "genuine friends" to lovers is not a "morally" good way to date. amirite?

Assuming a genuine friend suddenly ask you out doesn't that make you question if they were ever a REAL friend? Oh it obviously does? That's absolutely ridiculous and totally ignores the fact that feelings can grow and develop over time.

Literally would not have been born if friends should not become lovers.

It's how most relationships start. I guess OP thinks Tinder is the only morally acceptable way to find a partner.

Sure some people are assholes and pretend to be friends for a change at dating, but a lot of people experience two things at the same time, friendship, and infatuation

I'm so confused by this. It's much healthier for you to be friends with someone and slowly find yourself developing feelings for them. It makes the whole experience much more pleasurable and much more genuine because there's pure interest there. Imagine someone seeing you at your lowest and still wanting to not only stick around but get married to you. That would make my heart melt

Failing to see the issue of morality in this uh... "opinion".

Assuming a genuine friend suddenly ask you out doesn't that make you question if they were ever a REAL friend? Oh it obviously does? I've never understood this view about dating and love. I was best friends with my now boyfriend for more than 1.5 years. Most of that time, neither of us had feelings for each other. I have always been a 'real' friend of him, and I still am. We're still best friends, just also boyfriends now.

Agreed, it's creepy af to not let people know your intentions early on. It's better to ask reasonable early.
