+28 You are more likely to fully understand the language of a stranger from the other side of the globe, than of the pet you raised for years. amirite?

That's absolutely wrong. I understand what my cat wants when he comes to my room and starts meowing at me and I don't understand a word when a someone starts writing in Polish in a game.

Maybe not Polish, but maybe spanish? Or even just english from a stranger that is literally on another part of the globe? There is also a difference between understanding the basic needs, and actually being able to have a talk with them. Not every pet owner is as observant with their pets, for as unfortunate that is.

I would obviously be able to speak English with someone from the other side of the globe (as we are doing right now) but that isn't really the point. I would also be able to speak English with my cat if he spoke it. My point is it's easier to understand what the cat that you raised wants than it it is to understand a language you don't know

You clearly don't pay enough attention to your pets then. They make it very clear what they want and need, and I find it far easier to understand them than I do a language from a completely different culture with different mannerisms and customs.

I mean, a stranger can always pull up google translate, or at least show you exactly what they mean when talking with you. Whereas a pet, you might know their basic needs, but cant really communicate with them in the same manner as another human.

There is also the element that you can pick up individual words, even for foreign languages, but you cant really tell the "words" of animals apart as easily.
