You do know that that's how work works, right? If you develop something without documentation, you haven't done your job and you can easily be fired for it.

Either show your work, or solve the same problem another way and get the same result. How else would I know your answer is right?

How does one know how you got the answer if you don't walk them through how you got there. Brief documentation will help.

When I was in school I also hated showing my work for the same reason, now I understand it was to prove I was solving it the right way. School isn't to teach you to solve problems, it's to teach you methods to solve problems.

You realize that if your boss asked you to show how you did the work you did, you'd still have to do it right? Like if I go to my boss and say "hey, we shipped every order out!" but really I just dumped them all into the dumpster, well I didn't do my job did I? The reason your teacher does this is to make sure you actually know how to do the work. They want to see that you didn't cheat or that you didn't just guess.
