-17 Working out doesn't make sense, especially after 40, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You do know getting laid isn't the only reason people go to the gym right?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This isnt an unpopular opinion - its just wrong

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You dont have to have a dedicated physical fitness regimen to be healthy.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

No one here said that and you know it.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I'll be seeing you in my office in a few years after your heart attack.

by mckenzie45 1 week ago

So in your professional opinion, not going to the gym leads to heart attacks?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Not being physically active definitely contributes...OP literally said "forget the workouts" and be happier.

by mckenzie45 1 week ago

A doctor could lose their license by saying that a sedentary lifestyle is heart healthy. It's also just a laughably stupid thing to say.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

They said a sedentary lifestyle is healthy just like they said not going to the gym leads to heat attacks. It is stupid and my point entirely. This person didn't say they were a doctor, you assumed. Stay in your lane, C minus

I'm not the one going around advocating being a fatass.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

But you're definitely trying to be hurtful lmao No one is saying obese is healthy. You are adding in a lot to get to that conclusion. Keep working

by Anonymous 1 week ago

At an earlier age, statistically speaking, yeah

by No_Temperature 1 week ago

This isnt only unpopular but just dumb. No need to be healthy I guess

by MedicineConstant4051 1 week ago

I started at 39 and feel much better after two years of going

nobody is impressed by a hard body unless they're in their 20s, and that's just the stupid ones. You're living in denial bud. But that's not the main reason to workout anyway, the main reasons are health, strength, and fitness

by Anonymous 1 week ago

All that, and, I'm even more impressed with 40+ folks who are ripped because I know it takes a lot of dedication. Or gear I guess.

by dominic85 1 week ago

Depends what you're doing. Cardio is great for idk, living longer and stuff. So not completely pointless

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Working out can literally extend your life and prevent cognitive decline. Going to the gym is good for more than just getting a "hard body." And just cause you don't care what people look like past 40, doesn't mean others don't. I'm one who loves all body types. But people who are in their older ages and still "got it" impress the hell out of me!

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This isn't an unpopular opinion as much of a complete misunderstanding about why 95% of People go to a gym. If you said powerlifting I would agree with your opinion.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

People don't always go the gym so they can look good. It's for their personal health in a world where living a sedentary lifestyle is easier than ever. The concept of going the gym has been tainted by social media really bad. But yeah, some do go because deep-rooted insecurities.

by Thin_Midnight 1 week ago

old people need exercise more than kids do

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Exactly. Why should anyone want to be healthy anyway, right? Especially after 40. That's over the hill anyways. Just die quietly and unhealthy.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Bait. Or absolute retardation.

People work out for a variety of reasons. You come across as the type of loser with a dad bod who lacks discipline and ambition. You probably haven't achieved much in your average life.

by Ok-Refrigerator-7884 1 week ago

Doctor here: you are thinking about working out for physical appearance. A lot of people workout for different reasons for cardiovascular health to improve their physical strength to staying athletic. Some people work out to blow off steam or help deal with their depression. For example, fire fighters. They workout to be able to fit into their uniforms, be able to carry you to safety, and fight fires. And a lot of them like to remember the fallen fire fighters on September 11th by doing the tower climb on the step machines. It's not all about appearance. It's good for your mental, physical and sexual health.

You can have a healthy lifestyle and exercise without having to pay to get in a building.
