You are getting contactes by customers regularly on social media, this is a genuine concern and your manager cannot ignore it. Assuming it's a chain and not a small store, you should definitely tell your manager that this is now a problem and if they will not allow you to either change the name or remove it completely, then contact your area manager or HR by email.

Thank you for this. Even though I'm 19 I don't really have much grasp on my rights but yes I will definitely bring it up again and if nothing changes I'll be escalating it. Thank you for the advice

You should definitely pursue the issue with your employer - contact HR about it (assuming you have an HR person/dept.). In the meantime you may want to consider changing your username on your social media accounts (if possible). I'm sorry you are having to deal with this - it is unacceptable.

Honestly I don't see the need. I'd rather work mangers had tags with specific theme eg numbers colours or fruits

lol that would be much better than names. I don't know why it's even a thing. The last thing I care about when I'm ordering a Big Mac is what the name of my server is. You'll likely never even see this person again. Why do you need to know their name??

I like name tags cuz I'm awful at remembering names, but its definitely reasonable for you to be given a fake name if you are being harassed like that.

Yeah... I think you should tell your manager about this, because what those men are doing to you is not okay, and if your manager won't do anything either, I'd take this to HR.

His reasoning is "they haven't followed you home or physically intimidated you" despite the fact I've had many of them try to ask to take me out. I had one guy memorise my shifts and would come in pretending he needed help with which condoms to buy every time. He was banned from the store after pushing it for 2 months

Literally everyone in every context should be wearing name tags. Not at home, but that's about it.

Nope I disagree. The only people who need to know your name are your colleagues and family/friends. Strangers do not need to know your name for any reason

Yes but the problem is that nobody ever remembers their colleague names unless they work with them every single day.

Woman smile: nice Man smile: creepy

Don't be naive. The smile they give isn't a friendly smile at all. Smiling at someone whilst groaning and looking them up and down is indeed creepy.
