I'm not one to make a thing out of life and death. In the end, we die and become nothing. Just like turning off a light switch or a fire going out. It's just off. And really, after 100 years, 99% of us will be forgotten anyways.

Honestly, I'm with you. I want to invite all the good I can while I'm here. Enjoy my life, appreciate beauty, bring uplifting experiences to others, be happy and peaceful, find the fun, and be in the present moment. Anyone who has those experiences with me will likely take that sense of fun, peace etc. and be inspired to create beautiful moments with someone else. That's enough "immortality" for me.

I finally decided I want to be cremated and dumped out somewhere instead of being buried because if I become notable enough history remembers me I don't need a monument taking up land forever and if I am not notable enough for history to remember me I don't deserve a monument in my honor taking up space forever...

There's a beautiful and weird romance to the idea of just fading away and being reclaimed by the earth. The same way meals can be art we consume. Idk, I just think there's a type of beauty in impermanence.

Interesting. Do we tell our kids about their great grandparents for the great grandparent's immortality or for the kid's benefit? I think whoever said that was a little full of themselves lol. I do agree about the whole grave thing. My husband has a space the my in laws bought when they bought theirs a million years ago. My ashes will be blown in the wind in my beautiful valley. I've not done anything great in life to be remembered by. I make pretty good soup and watch kit for my people. Maybe if someone says that at my funeral I'm good.
