For everyone who has not had the same pair of doc martens since 1995..... You do have to buy shoe laces. Also dogs.

I just bought shoelaces last week, actually. First time I've ever had to do that. I went to tie my shoes, and the old shoelace immediately snapped

My shoes last me for quite awhile but then again if I don't have to wear them I don't

I have a pair of Nikes where the shoelaces broke before the shoes gave out, but I think that's a testament to how thin the laces are than the shoes. The replacement laces I bought seem like they're going to drastically outlive the shoes.

I buy Harley boots and they last for a decade or more. Cheaper buying a 300 quid pair of boots once a decade than a 50 quid pair every year or two.

Labour is cheap too if you're willing to use sweat shops in Asia. It just isn't economical to ship a single pair of shoes all the way to Vietnam to be resoled.
