A painted line and two peoples sense of self preservation. I think the latter matters more than the former.

Faith. You just have to continue having faith. I used to think this when I was driving full size buses down the highway in Florida at 60 miles an hour separated by a line of paint. Faith. And I don't mean religious faith. I mean, I mean, having faith that the guy in the opposing lane isn't going to pick you to drive into today. You know, faith faith.

There's really not a lot going on there otherwise. We are all driving understanding that we all collectively agree about the rules of the road and to look for the outliers.

I sort of feel peoples' desire to not die is more of the control than the little piece of paint. The little strip of paint just helps us understand how to not kill ourselves.

Yeah if it wasnt for that damn painted line I'd be slamming my car into everyone that passed me, but alas they keep painting them 😔

It's one of the most dangerous things we do that so many don't take seriously.

I think about this all the time, it does change my driving. But on turns sometimes I be thinking, it's literally only paint

The Arc Du Triomphe has 5 unmarked lanes of traffic around it and Parisiens seem to cope well enough.

It's a great guide, on heavy snow days, those lines are are gone and I've seen 4 lane highways(each side) reduced to 2 because people, including me, don't know where they should be. I love lines
