+29 Cannabis doesn't make you lazy. It just allows you to procrastinate in peace. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I tried weed for the first time as an old fart. Let me tell you, it mostly just made me feel angry…that I had spent all these years not smoking weed

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This is my 71 year old father's excuse for never trying Mexican food even though his birthday is today, the 5th of May. "What if I really like it? Then I'll be pissed about all those years I missed out!"

I can understand! lol

Isn't that what being lazy is? Relaxed procrastination?

by SadCow 1 week ago

Procrastination is almost always caused by another issue that the person often needs help fixing, and relaxing is important to maintain mental health. It's not lazy unless that's all you choose to do.

by Luigi58 1 week ago

Procrastination is just choosing to do a task later while you could do it now. Chronic procrastination (i.e. you can't not procrastinate) can be tied to mental health, but certainly not "almost always." Choosing to procrastinate is laziness.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Choosing to procrastinate is choosing to procrastinate. If I choose to do something later then that is my choice. It isn't being lazy. I don't want to do it now. If I did I would. The thing still gets done, just when I am ready not when the thing is ready.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I don't want to do it now. If I did I would. That's literally the dictionary definition of laziness.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

The actual literal dictionary definition of laziness is "idleness" and "the quality of being unwilling to do work" I am definitely willing to do work. WHEN I choose to do it. If I choose to do it. One could say that "laziness" is procrastination at the detriment of one's own best interest, or at least with apathy or ignorance towards it. If it truly does not matter if I mow the yard now or after I watch the latest episode of TNG, then... how is that lazy? Because you say? Because grandpa says? Then I will repeat what the lazy people say, "whatever" I would say, Grandpa, it is you who are a slave to the expectations of others or you are conditioned by your environment into feeling like you need to always be "productive"

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Then I will repeat what the lazy people say, "whatever" I think you are viewing laziness as an inherent constant character trait. I'm talking about "being lazy" as an activity.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I think I see the difference and I think you are correct there.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Normally anxiety? You avoid it because you fear it? Always how it works . Nervious.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah it definitely makes doing nothing easier !

I'm a fan of legal cannabis but I have to personally disagree. Cannabis makes me obviously lazy relative to the person I actually am. It just isn't me and I didn't realize it until I was forced to quit for a bit due to a collapsed lung. It was incredibly eye opening (I also saw the tar on the inside of my lungs and that was even more shocking since I don't smoke cigarettes).

by Deep_Cardiologist 1 week ago

Personally it makes me more productive as it allows me to function. But cannabis has very different effect from person to person. It's the only drug that can have such a varying individual effect

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Smoking weed and its associated lung risks are very well documented. It's great for your mom that she hasn't had any ill effects but that doesn't really change the conversation. My dad's a two pack a day smoker and he's 82. He's fine. Doesn't mean I'd recommend cigarettes. I don't have anything against weed and I partake myself, but I urge everyone to get a dry herb vaporizer or use edibles.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

There are way more healthy ways to consume than smoking burning plant matter. Burning it isn't necessary, you only need to heat it till the volatiles vaporize. For a long time, burning was the most convenient way to vaporize those volatiles, but it isn't the smoke itself you want, obviously.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah that's why I encourage a dry herb vaporizer. Joints are fun and all but not the best way to get your medicine if that's why you're smoking.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I will add that smoking out of a glass bowl is a good way to develop good technique where you roast as much of it as you can with the heat of the flame, vs a joint where you just...burn the thing Basically a very ineffective dry herb vape ;)

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah? People who say astmah can be treated with it lie?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Oh man I'm tired. Misread that at least three times as Cannibalism.

by dachleonie 1 week ago

Are you procrastinating relaxing?

by Eduardoweimann 1 week ago

I can clean the house like a MF when I smoke

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I remember a comic (Bill Hicks, maybe?) saying it's not that weed smokers are lazy, it's just that they see the futility of it all.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Part of the reason I don't use much weed is because I don't feel like I can productively do things when I'm high. So I'll only smoke if I've already decided I'm not doing anything for the rest of the day.

by EmploymentQueasy8877 1 week ago

The great thing about weed is that it makes to forget about your problems, and the bad thing about weed is that it makes you forget about your problems.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Not unless you get paranoid about the problem you forgot about.

by eloisedaniel 1 week ago

Yeah. Feeling like you got hit by a truck of Diphenhydramine isn't lazy. Ate edible, had mommments of feeling like I took Benadryl. Maybe to strong. Did not have a good time l had to crawl to the toilet

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I consume weed every day, just about. Had to switch to edibles because smoking was causing me lung problems. It 100% makes me feel lazy, so its strictly a before bed thing, otherwise I would get nothing accomplished.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

An honest take here

by Deep_Cardiologist 1 week ago

I am very glad you are not on fire in terms of actual flame

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I guess it depends on the person and how much weed you smoke. I take 1-2 hits, enough to get me high, and I'm able to work and be productive. If I smoked any more than that, I'd be a paranoid mess and lazy for sure.
