I'm a 90s kid, we people have generation gap with our own generation lol. Time is just hallucinating.

I am 35 and can confirm that this is how math works.

2000 was still the 20th century, 2001 was the beginning of the 21st, and also the 3rd millennium

by IllustriousPension31 1 week ago

Depends on your definition, no? And why would we give a definite ending to a decade at the end of the "9" year and a definite end to a millenium at the end of the "99" year, but for some reason carry a century over into its "00" year?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Because there was no year zero so the 1st century was from the year 1-100 2nd from 101-200 and so on The millennium also didn't begin until 2001, for the exact same reason It's not an objective thing , that's how it works

Start counting passing cars. Do you start with one or zero?

by Wardwiegand 1 week ago

And when does the 1st 100 end and 2nd 100 begin?

by IllustriousPension31 1 week ago

Also people who are 34...

by Nervous-Artichoke 1 week ago

Depends on whether their last birthday was this or last year.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Their birthdays are every year

by Nervous-Artichoke 1 week ago

I mean their last birthday. It depends on wether they turned 34 this year or the last one. Everyone who has their 34th birthday this year was born in 1990

...also in 2 different millennia, lad.

I'm 65 and have been alive in 8 different decades. It is what it is: math!

As a firm believer in the power of 33, I can vouch for this arithmetic magic. Numbers, they're just trippy, right?
