+29 People care way to much about other people's tattooes, amirite?

by kerlukenina 1 week ago

This is THE popular opinion compared to the other one. You're right but it's def not the unpopular opinion

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Thinking outside of the internet, actually you might be right in that regard

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I really don't see why anyone cares, but I see some pansy on here whining about it at least once a day. If it's face tattoos or something outrageous that's obviously meant to get a reaction out of people, then yeah, it makes sense to have a reaction to it, but that is not most tattoos.

People care way to much about other people business, why do you even care if someone has a tattoo or no? like it's completely natural to have different opinions, but it becomes problematic when you keeps saying your opinions one someone alse business You don't like tattoos? good for you, you can tell your opinion about it, but you can't impose everyone agreeing with you or having your same idea

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You are entitled to your tattoos. Others are entitled to their opinion of your tattoos. You say, "Just because you don't like the look of them doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way." I highly doubt you'd say the opposite about people who do like the look of them, or that you'd respond to someone's compliment by saying "they aren't for you." I don't care one way or the other about tattoos. Some look good, some don't. But this "unpopular opinion" of yours is nothing more than toxic positivity.

I've never understood how vibrant hair colors or tattoos can be seen as unprofessional even, to me it makes no sense unless they're outlandish tattoos

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Imagine thinking these are even remotely the same thing.

by Optimal_Collar 1 week ago

Technically, it affects all of use because more often than not the person with the tattoo cannot see it or easily see it... but the rest of us can easily see it or do see it... Thus, we can say if we think its stupid or ugly if we would like to because that tattooed most likely doesn't see it on a regular basis (obviously there is a couple location exceptions).

It's like they all "I saw a yoda tattoo on someone arm at the park and it ruined my day and killed my faith in humanity's beauty."

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Why are you guys taking this so literal? Ya'll are nuts lol

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I'm sorry are you saying people hate tattoos as a metaphor??

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I only care when it is someone my wife is considering hiring at her job, no visible tattoos at all, other than that idgaf what people put on themselves.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

How does a tattoo affect someone's performance at a job?

by Warm-Examination-767 1 week ago

It doesn't, but also is not an image she wants to portray at her business, they all should look professional.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

That's one of the most stupid things I have ever heard.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Oh well, lots of people have been turned away because of face, neck, or hand tattoos, they can work someplace else.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

What exactly is unprofessional about tattoos?

by Fstreich 1 week ago

Not a look that she wants to have of people who work for her.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

That's not what I asked

by Fstreich 1 week ago

Because it's all white lab coats and clean, someone with a tattoo on their neck or hands goes against that.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

There's nothing unclean about tattoos though You and your wife simply have a bias against people with tattoos, man up and own up to it lmfao

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It's the business world in general, as a manager I have to take appearance into consideration. If you show up for an interview with a face/front neck tattoo, it's an automatic "No" from me, regardless of qualifications.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You still aren't answering my question. Why exactly do tattoos go against that?

by Fstreich 1 week ago

Because they do not fit into a clean, medical environment. Someone with whatever tattooed on their neck or hands is not a look she wants for her business, I am sure lots of other places hire them, but not her.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

They do, it's purely your biases that make you believe that. There is nothing unclean or "unmedical" about tattoos. You just personally don't think they fit in, which is fine, but that doesn't make them unprofessional.

by Fstreich 1 week ago

What is the profession?

by Warm-Examination-767 1 week ago

She owns a med spa.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

At the end of the day it is her preferance but that seems like a job that relies more on being skilled rather than looking "professional".

by Warm-Examination-767 1 week ago

Skilled is a huge part of it, but So is the atmosphere and the dress/look of the staff is important to that.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

I don't know what the theme is but if there is a certain vibe you want to go for in that business I can respect that.

by Warm-Examination-767 1 week ago

To look professional like in a Drs office.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

Are doctors not allowed to get tattoos? Should I go tell my GP??

by Afraid_Exit9975 1 week ago

Yours is a pretty hot take but I've got an arm full and I'd be uncomfortable having them showing during an interview too. If you hire me I'm showing up in short sleeves though

by Wide_Hunt 1 week ago

Then you would be let go because one of the points covered in the hiring process is no visible tattoos.

by Baumbacherna 1 week ago

As long as it's covered in hiring fair enough

by Wide_Hunt 1 week ago

That seems pretty reasonable too me lol

by kerlukenina 1 week ago

Why do you care so much about what other people think? Do you get to determine what's ok for others to think and express? Kind of hypocritical. Maybe they aren't even talking about YOUR tattoos.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I don't really care but these days, whenever i see someone with a whole sleeve of tattoos, i just automatically assume they're a dork, used to be they made someone tough looking, now they just look like a NPC

by ChannelThick4271 1 week ago

Caring is feeling invested. I recycle because I care about the environment. Having an opinion, as an observer, don't need any form of investment.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Why do you feel the need to express your unsolicited opinion on someone's tattoo?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Watch out, you have some unstable tattooed folks in here that are very ornery when it comes to tattoos lol

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I still think having no tattoos makes me the rebel, now

by Anonymous 1 week ago

That's not how rebellion works

by chyna90 1 week ago

"... they mean something too me ..." No, they don't.

by Plenty-Routine 1 week ago

Yes they do?

by kerlukenina 1 week ago

It's a delusion.

by Plenty-Routine 1 week ago

life is a delusion pal

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This the irony of tattoos in 2024. They've been so normalized and domesticated you'll see the most conservative person with a full sleeve now of anime and other designs they had to force out of the brain to justify getting a tattoo I remeber having a tattoo made you an outsider. Now, not having a tattoo makes you an outsider. At least in america
