+47 If you can't talk and drive without looking at your passenger or performing hand gestures you shouldn't be driving, amirite?

It annoys me SO much! My cousin did this once and I called him out - he said he was trying to be respectful with making eye contact while I was talking - I said fair enough but it's more respectful not to kill me or others hahaha (also I don't care at ALL about eye contact) Good kid, means well but god damn lol

I said fair enough but it's more respectful not to kill me You don't give everyone the same level of respect do ya? That kinda respect has to be EARNED. /s

My friend full on makes eye contact with me while driving like they do in the movies AND she drives a Fit.

I don't know if this opinion is unpopular, I wholeheartedly agree. I had a co-worker that would give me a ride sometimes and she would constantly be looking at me to talk to me, I would refuse to look back at her in hopes that she would get the hint that she should be looking at the road. That didn't work though and eventually I would just tell her "I know I'm really pretty and all, but please look at the road and not at me." She's also been in a good amount of car accidents which is not surprising.

I'm fairly certain I passed my driving test because I refused to look my examiner in the eye when he was chatting away 😎

I know someone who drives with one hand and the other hand stays on the gearshift. They drive an automatic.

I mean it's a decent resting spot for your hand. Nothing wrong with that

Driving with one hand and like resting my elbow on the center console with my hand on the shifter was always more comfortable for me. I also find it way easier to make sharp turns when parking and stuff like that with one hand
