"30 minutes of ad-free music" is somehow more like two 3 minutes songs.

I don't hold them accountable for that and you're right about the experience. Coming from listening to radio or YouTube it's still a far better experience.

I guess that depends on what you consider expensive. During and for a few years after college I would've loved a free-with-ads option. Now that I'm fortunate enough to have some discretionary income, I'm happy to pay the $15 or whatever the going rate for netflix is these days. And it honestly probably saves me money by not having the temptation to buy even more stuff I don't need. But I definitely like that it's an option.
