+36 One day your parents put you down and then never picked you up again, amirite?

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

From now on every time I'll come across someone picking up a kid and saying "you're getting heavy" I'll remember this line and feel a bit sad 🙁

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Gee thanks, now I have to start doing that too

by Rosa16 3 weeks ago

I remind my kids that this is one of the reasons I still go to the gym. So I can say: NOT TODAY!

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I bet you are an awesome parent

by Rosa16 3 weeks ago

I'm lucky, I guess. In my 65 years, maybe not physically, they have "picked me up" more times than I deserve.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

OP is talking physically

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

You must be really fun at parties.

OP is typing physically.

Found the cat.

One day we were tucked in and read our last bedtime story. Still get soothed on the rare times my mom just casually sings

by Gerda76 3 weeks ago

Physically, yes... Emotionally, spiritually, mentally? Debatable

by Ebertgregoria 3 weeks ago

Spiritually?? Are they supposed to make an exorcism spell on your soul or what

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Your parents didn't perform exorcisms on you when you listened to "dat devil music"?

by Puzzleheaded_Lock855 3 weeks ago

If one is from a religious family/community...should I have used "religiously" in place of "spiritually"? 🤔

by Ebertgregoria 3 weeks ago

What religion? Im confident at least in couple religions the only one who is able to change you spiritually is first god then you other then that they can just teach you

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Teaching is changing.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

True

by Ebertgregoria 3 weeks ago

only if the parents outlive their kids. mine don't metaphorically or literally do any of that anymore, ‘cause, yknow, no one lasts forever

by Just_Specific_1538 3 weeks ago

My kids are almost 4 and 2 and I've been thinking about this since I started holding them! There are lots of small bittersweet moments like that.

by Dmiller 3 weeks ago

If I lost a lot of weight I think mine could still pick me up together as a team.

by Lucindamraz 3 weeks ago

My kids are 8 and 9 and still insist on me carrying them to bed. Its getting tough now!

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I've often wondered if teenagers have such a bad attitude because they slowly went from people paying attention to them 24/7 to basically ignoring them as much as possible in a little over a decade

by citlalli80 3 weeks ago

That's wild. Lol One day, you begin to hold and pick up your parents.

by baby82 3 weeks ago

It has been 2 weeks since the first time I had to pick up my mom and move her. She is so small and bony now, but in my memories and dreams she still looks like she did at 50.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

You dad probably picked you up more recently. To throw you into the water, possibly against your will

by SuddenCompetition467 3 weeks ago

OP obviously doesn't celebrate suplex sundays.

by Miserable_Expert_382 3 weeks ago

I picked up my dad once so was kinda cool to flip it around lol

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Don't worry, my mom still puts me down as much as she can

by Ornery_Leopard 3 weeks ago

I'm not crying yet, I picked up my teenager the other day.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I kind of remember my mum not being able to carry me anymore

by hmcglynn 3 weeks ago

For some reason I don't think Eddie Hall's or Brian Shaw's kids have to worry about this happening anytime soon.

by horacioquitzon 3 weeks ago

Mine always put me down and said I was a mistake.

by wdoyle 3 weeks ago

One day you will brush your teeth and then never brush your teeth again. Wow insightful

by Zealousideal_Bit41 3 weeks ago

They had us in a first half, not gonna lie

by Background_Shop8702 3 weeks ago

Idk my mom made me a coffee this morning

by nat95 3 weeks ago

insert Toy Story "I don't want to play with you anymore" meme here

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Some people never "pick up" their kids in the first place, they have more fun or an easier time "pushing them down".

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

One day my parents abandoned me and I never saw them again. There are worse things to worry about.
