+45 Pat McAfee is not funny, amirite?

by Gustave42 3 weeks ago

Loud= funny. I agree with that observation. It's just frat guy "humor".

by Difficult-Humor-2488 3 weeks ago

A retired football player who's popular with college kids having frat humor???? What????

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Whenever people say this I cringe myself tbh. Comes across as jealous. You dont have to like his humor lol. It's not that deep. Alot of people prob think you are insufferable and boring. People have different taste.

by Electronic-Unit-8953 3 weeks ago

hahaha gatekeeping humour

by starkdelta 3 weeks ago

i know thats why i hahahed

by starkdelta 3 weeks ago

People don't have to like his humor. But if they don't like his humor and say so, then they're just jealous.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I think he's kind of a tool and I agree he's not funny. But what his show offers that no others do is a very real look at pro athletes. There's no filter, no media lens, he gets athletes to be athletes on his show and IMO that's what really is the selling point.

by Best_Work5040 3 weeks ago

Has Bill talked about that ass-whipping he took from Billy?

by Gustavelittle 3 weeks ago

I figured that would have changed somewhat since he joined with ESPN. Has it not?

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

His first hour is on ESPN but hour 2 is always a YouTube stream so it's way less filtered on thag half

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

First two hours are on ESPN. All 3+ beyond hours are on YouTube. Third hour and beyond is where is gets off the rails

by DirectMarzipan 3 weeks ago

Idk I don't watch him much but I was pretty surprised when I flipped to ESPN a couple days ago, and he dropped like 10 f-bombs in the first hour

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Yeah it's gotten pretty lax on the language, which I understand isn't for everyone

by DirectMarzipan 3 weeks ago

Yeah you have no idea what you're talking about

by Bkeeling 3 weeks ago

I mean I watch the show once or twice a week and watch clips on YouTube often. It's easily my favorite sports show

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

yeah, that's the thing. People know him from clips, and that's the consequence of growing and signing with ESPN. he is so loud and annoying sometimes but in the end I can leave his stream on during work occasionally and it's entertaining interviews and fun takes. but when all is said and done the show is set up to have truly magical moments: when Owen called in, Mad Mel and Boston Connor on their rants, AJ talking about piranhas. Aaron aside, yelling aside, this is why people watch

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

That's so cringe "no filters"

by sadyebechtelar 3 weeks ago

Aaron Rodgers goes on his show and like talks about Sandy hook being fake. It's pretty unhinged lol.

by Best_Work5040 3 weeks ago

Yea rodgers is a loon. But I think a lot of people watch to see the train wreck.

by brycenlarson 3 weeks ago

Didn't they ban Aaron Rodgers from the show for his opinions

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

No.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Hes just a homie

by According-Height 3 weeks ago

Yeah he's a bro just not one of the dawgs

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

He's like the Dane Cook of sports.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Football Joe Rogan

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

"Hey! Hey!" Belichick was literally wincing.

by Gustavelittle 3 weeks ago

The Tai Kwon Do of boring white guy analogies? That Dane Cook?

by Feisty_Tiger_7027 3 weeks ago

He's not funny but he's fun if that makes sense

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Yeahh, I kinda hate you because I see what you mean.

by OutsideChallenge1255 3 weeks ago

I'm not the biggest Pat McAfee fan, but I'm always impressed with his energy. It can be really infectious. He has a real motor mouth and is quick witted. I don't know how the guy does it. Especially with the fact that he does a three hour show every day.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I'm gonna guess uppers, amphetamine. The good kind.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Adderall

by AffectionateStyle 3 weeks ago

He clearly has adhd and clearly doesn't take anything for it

by New_Requirement8400 3 weeks ago

I can't listen to him but he was great as a guest on all the smoke

by Lluettgen 3 weeks ago

Better than Stephen A Smith

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Dead air would be better than Stephen A. Smith

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

That's true the bar is low

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

That screaming sun from Rick and Morty would be better tbf

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

As a wwe fan who had no idea who he was before he started doing appearances there, I think he's pretty funny

by Maleficent-Peach 3 weeks ago

Why the need for "as a WWE fan"? Should we take your opinions on entertainment with a grain of salt?

by Forsaken_Reference 3 weeks ago

Thanks. Didn't know that

by Forsaken_Reference 3 weeks ago

They literally contextualize why that's important in the next part of the sentence, they didn't know about him untill he showed up on WWE, which they are a fan of

by Feisty_Tiger_7027 3 weeks ago

No he's just saying he only knows him in one area.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Mainly cause I figure he probably acts differently on his podcast or whatever else he does

by Maleficent-Peach 3 weeks ago

I don't mind him, but it seems evident he's pretty polarizing and there are a lot of people who dislike him. This isn't really that unpopular of an opinion

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Didn't that same guy kill his neighbor in Belize because of his dogs? And rumor has it he died in Spain, but did he rEallY?!???

by Consistent-Many 3 weeks ago

He used to get pooped on through a hammock with a hole in it by underage escorts. Also loved MPDV (bath salts) and had a lab setup in the jungle to make it. Deep rabbit hole.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Dunno. I just know the software he made is largely considered malware now.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I was turned off by the loud meathead vibe from the beginning.

by Select-Builder 3 weeks ago

He's at least better than Renee Young, I'll give him that 😂

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

He tries too hard. He has his moments but Ty is the funny one.

by hesterbergstrom 3 weeks ago

He is funny for sports and 14-30 year olds who care about sports daily. But like Ryan Seacrest and Carson Daily before him and Chris Hardwick, and all these guys who keep popping up hosting shows it gets tiring. He's just gonna fall into that circle of guys who end up hosting things. Basically nobody I'll ask for him, but he'll just keep popping up for years.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I'm glad I can finally meet someone's expectations.

by Gustave42 3 weeks ago

Thanks. I learned something today.

by Uhomenick 3 weeks ago

Had to Google him. Yea he looks like an unfunny douche

by Frederikkihn 3 weeks ago

he's terrible

by FlakyWarthog8961 3 weeks ago

I agree. He's interesting I guess but I don't find him particularly funny.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

It's not RAW unless he gets up on the table and yeets lmao

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Why is he always red?

by Ashtyn71 3 weeks ago

He never was. Just a clown with a show. Tired of him being put into everything in sports.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Who?

by Then_Remote 3 weeks ago

All sports media is either loud = funny or yelling = correct

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Most people just view him as a breath of fresh air in an otherwise vanilla sports landscape…

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Yeah, that show is unwatchable IMO. It's brotastic and I'm not nearly broey enough to get it.

by RepairSlow 3 weeks ago

I really don't like trying to watch a football game and half my screen is a separate stream of him and his posse running up and down the field. I'm not there to watch him, I'm there to watch the game. I agree I don't like him as an announcer.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

This is why you get bit grandpa

by Gutmannrachel 3 weeks ago

Just looked the guy up. His channel is full of football stuff. Of course he's loud.

by Runteleila 3 weeks ago

He's liked because he's not PC. While I generally like the non-sports centric sports shows his show comes off as a try hard to be edgy frat bro. And that's fair considering the show came from barstool. So you get mainly the barstool audience. I more like the non-sports sports shows that just feel like friends hanging out. The LeBatard show and inside the nba on tnt are absolutely goated

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Hes terrible. Milquetoast mark.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

He's completely the worst. Stephen A Smith looks at him and is like "I think you need to tone it down a bit".

by Used-Judgment 3 weeks ago

I dont think hes funny but i like his show. Its more casual than anything else on espn and the people he interview seem more at ease

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

His story about Troy Polamalu is pretty funny. But yeah, a lot of times he's pretty grating. Especially humoring Aaron Rodgers conspiracy nonsense.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I'm not into him, but I think his energy and enthusiasm are what people latch onto. People prefer his frat-boy vibe to the more traditional sportscasters or the more argumentative sports show hosts like Stephen A or Skip Bayless.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I feel the same way about Kevin Hart. Just another dude who isn't remotely entertaining or funny, just screams constantly.

by No_Truth 3 weeks ago

I agree. He's definitely around for a specific demographic but he was more interesting when he wasn't everywhere. Loud=funny thing is dead on

by SpecialClothes9235 3 weeks ago

I don't even know who that is. So you're probably right.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I think he's ok

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Pat is best in smaller doses.

by Remote-Reference2729 3 weeks ago

He's killed college game day for me

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I find the zoo setup and loud delivery grating, but I put up with it because there's some genuine intelligent insight and points of view coming out. His draft coverage with Bill Belichick was excellent. I started watching occasional morsels and then switched over to it completely because it was more informative.

by satterfieldkase 3 weeks ago

his youtube clips can be good. but i cant imagine watching him for hours. apparently a lot of people do. i do wonder how long his show will last at this peak.

by Mountain_Stress 3 weeks ago

I really don't mind being out of the loop

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I only know him from WWE and he's amazing there

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I don't think this is all that unpopular. I find him grating, and I think a lot of people do.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

You're not funny

by Kelli23 3 weeks ago

He farts on air. He's good.

by Kelli23 3 weeks ago

I don't know who this is, but I already hate him.

by AnyLaw7926 3 weeks ago

The Dane Cook of the sports world.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Never heard of him. Is he as awful as Seinfeld?

by baileyanastasia 3 weeks ago

Yeah do not buy or download McAfee ever. That antivirus is pure bloat ware.

by lednernicolette 3 weeks ago

He's a bit of a douche to be honest, but most of them are

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

He's funny in a bro way but not legitimately funny where he makes all types folks laugh.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

He's obviously aiming for a specific audience which is college frat guys and jocks. You can just tell by him being loud and obnoxious, the muscle shirt, the dirty table, it looks like he just woke up out of bed. Seems like a simple show but it's cleverly marketed. It's most likely an act for the camera. I don't personally like it even though I like sports

by Next-Specialist2987 3 weeks ago

Fun Fact: He is not your comedian

by jjacobi 3 weeks ago

I don't like him either.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

My shivers don't lie. Shiver me timbers.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

He's so loud about EVERYTHING. Why does everything have to be hype? It doesn't help that ESPN puts him on literally everything

by Glad_Office 3 weeks ago

Woof woof woof woof woof pencil flip Woof

by Mcarter 3 weeks ago

He isn't a comedian burst out laughing kind of guy. He is a relaxing and making fun remarks here and there kind of guy

by More_Ad 3 weeks ago

Well… idk who he is so maybe ur right

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

He's a twat

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I feel like if I'm on the internet daily and still need to look someone up, they are not popular.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

Very popular in the mainstream sports world even though he shouldn't be because he's a 50 year old frat guy. No reason you would ever hear about him if you don't follow sports though.

by Leannondanika 3 weeks ago

I worked in a sports bar for years, but not since the pandemic

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

He retired from the NFL in 2017 and started doing TV stuff shortly thereafter. Didn't get super big until the last few years though.

by Leannondanika 3 weeks ago

Yeah, makes sense.

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

It's weird I fell victim to this today. I was having a conversation with somebody about a famous sports figure this week. Deion Sanders. My friend was arguing in general any person would know exactly who he is. I argued he was a popular sports figure in America in the last 30 years, but if you didn't watch football, why would you know him. He countered with Dancing With The Stars. He may be Sports Famous, but not popular famous. Just my two cents

by Anonymous 3 weeks ago

I honestly can't think of a better embodiment of the word douche

by Organic-Tradition 3 weeks ago

Tell me you're old and cranky without saying it... Old white

by Royal_Wedding 3 weeks ago

Retired loud mouth kicker on gear. Not even a real athlete when playing. Kickers are more like members of the band who play soccer on weekends.

by paulakautzer 3 weeks ago

McAffee absolutely was an athlete, he was a great punter and he actually has a highlight reel of tackles, passes, onside kicks and etc that he did over the years. You clearly never saw him play: I'm a Colts fan, I watched the guy play for years and he was a kicker who could change a game.
