especially when you burst in on crutches that you're not used to and everyone pities you, then you're called to the board to do a problem anyway...

How 'bout just ignore them and take a seat. Nothing wrong with being late for class. No one thinks lesser of you for it, well unless you make a frequent habit of it. I can understand not liking the attention if everyone hates you. Mostly people just look cause their is something to see, class is boring, and people are easily distracted.

Duuuude. That's my favorite part! I LOVE walking into class late! Everyone looks at you... And you get to strut past... It's GREAT! What's wrong with a few seconds of attention?
