I'm not checking my bag unless it won't fit under the seat. Why would I add an extra 20 min waiting for my bag to come off the plane when I could be on my way.

Having had an airline loose my luggage once I will never check my bags again.

Exactly. Never got my luggage back from airlines and it was very stressful and expensive. I've never checked a bag since and life is good. My bag doesn't roll though, I carry it in my back so I can do stairs. I'd wait 30 min to deplane if need be, but it's usually half that. Better approach is to select a seat in the front rows if you wanna get off the plane fast. You're not gonna make boarding a shorter time period.
