aestetic is soothing and can motivate you to look at you screen longer. I am just way happier looking at my full catppuccin hyperland setup than my boring win11 setup.

That is not what I said. And I don't live in Hypotheses world. Gnome is consistent through the years (I'm 51 yo, more than 25 in Unix/Linux). And to be clear the only things I need to tweak is VS Code and TUI apps.

It is aesthetically pleasing and has a psychologically positive effect on a person. To think and be proud that you don't love art, that you don't have a sense of beauty, is doubtful. I'll tell you a secret, but the vast majority, in principle, do nothing "useful", but simply spend time having fun or admiring something on the screen.
