+25 Why are movies/series being announced 2 years before their release dates? Are they not aware that people/fans could die during that time? amirite?

I wouldn't say they don't care, I would just say it's irrelevant. The more interesting question would be "how much discussion goes into the passing of an actor when beginning a multiple year role such as a series or set of movies?"

Companies care about profit. That's it. Marketing figured out the earlier you announce it the more hype, the more viewers on the first episode. That's it. Is it annoying to wait 2 years for something? Yes, but they don't care.

If they announced it a day before, people would still die.
