depends on job….did the office have a black couch?

Yes, I've found that the interviews I usually pass are the ones where I've had fun talking with the recruiter.

Going for the kiss at the end keeps backfiring on me and I'm escorted out of the building, what am I doing wrong?

I actually laughed out loud. 😂

If you find it endearing and the context calls for it, shoot. 😂

Interviews aren't actually hard if you're confident in your capabilities and qualifications. Also remember that if someone doesn't want to hire you, someone else will.

I'm not sure if this is unpopular but it's good advice! Plenty of people have told me I do good interviews and all I do is treat the interview as a regular conversation, similar to one I would have with a friend.

Yeah but I'm cute when I'm nervous and I want them to think they can use their position of power over me to get sexual favors if they hire me so I can later sue them for harassment and not have to work again.

How much effort, prep, and research are you doing for blind dates?

Also remember that while there are times you may have to take anything that's available, ideally they have to sell you too. It's a two-way street. I'm going to ask the questions I think are relevant. How would you describe the work culture here? What are your favorite things about working here? Least favorite? Why is this position open? How would you describe your management style? Etc, etc. Don't be afraid to terminate the interview if you think it isn't going well. I've said that I don't think our personalities are a match so I'm going to go ahead and end this interview. The interviewer was none too happy. But it felt good. It felt empowering. I'm not afraid to say, "I don't know," two questions either. For one, I'm not a very good liar. Two, I don't want to get into a situation where I'm hired for a job that I don't know how to do. Better to figure that out really early.

It also helps if you actually have the skills and aren't "faking it".
