Going on Holiday to a hot country is not relaxing, amirite?
by Fnitzsche10 months ago
I think it depends heavily on your preferences. I prefer the temperature being somewhere between 0-20C, so I'm not going to have a good time relaxing at the beach in 35C. Someone who's preferred temperature is 25-40C is going to have a lot better of a time relaxing at the beach at 35C. Said people think I'm nuts for going abroad in the winter in the hopes it'll be colder than 10C with rain.

I like basking in the sun like a lizard. So, yeah hard disagree.

Nothing beats some beach drinks and some cool water to take a dip in, then a mid afternoon siesta. Even better if you get a jog or workout in that morning. Something about just having no responsibilities other than enjoying the sun hits different.

I sometimes go to hot countries, but only during low season, when it's not too hot. During summer, I prefer to remain home in the mountains.

And for those who enjoy it. What is the appeal? I live in Scotland which is, for 6-9 months of the year cold, wet and miserable. Getting somewhere warm for a week or two and feeling that searing heat on my bones is delightful. Plus, lazing by the pool is a good way to recharge the ol' batteries.

Right on to you! Haha

This might be a shocker but I promise there are holidays throughout the entire year

People with kids will mainly have summer for holiday trips.

Not relaxing for you..wouldn't be relaxing for me either. That's just how we are. But for many people, it is relaxing

I live in Texas where it's 100 degrees F (38C) all summer long. It's also hot from March to May, and also equally as hot from September through November. So I agree. If I'm going on vacation it will be somewhere with mild temperatures.

So you can't communicate with your partner about where to holiday and this is somehow an unpopular opinion?
by Spirited-Parfait-59610 months ago
I feel like it is an unpopular opinion. All of my co workers have gone on holidays abroad to hot European countries saying it's so great and relaxing. I have also communicated this

So when planning this, you were unable to communicate with your partner your preferences and make some sort of compromise perhaps, and therefore this is an unpopular opinion? You're right, its unpopular alright, but not in the way you think. This is a you problem. Some people are from cooler climates and would love the warmth, some people just prefer to be warm over cold.

What sucks about Europe during the summer and a heat wave is the lack of air conditioning So few places to escape the heat!

Hahaha you're from Barbados. Why would you enjoy a hot holiday. It's just more of the same. This holiday must have cost a fortune. Why in gods name would you go from a tropical island to a European beach holiday ... You'd go Europe in spring to see some culture. Or in winter for snow and Christmas fares.
