It was good. But I agree. For all of those that somehow see it as better than BB, I majorly disagree. BCS wouldn't have even been created without the success of BB. And Bob Odenkirk is no Bryan Cranston. Not even close.

I just feel like it took a little longer for the show to turn Jimmy to Saul, that's all. I personally watched it only to know the back stories of Mike, Salamancas and Gus Fring.

It's a really slow paced show that isn't for everyone. I personally really enjoyed it but I think people just assume if they liked breaking bad they will like BCS, which isn't the case.

Very very very unpopular opinion. I can somewhat understand why someone might not like the first half of the show (focus is on Jimmy turning into Saul). The second half of the show is when Saul's life and cartel/Gus/Mike cross paths with Saul.

Agree with that. BCS takes the idea from Breaking Bad that "doesn't matter how weak the plot or characters are as long as it looks good" to next level. And it looks really good. I'll give an example. In one the seasons (don't remember which) follows 2 storylines, Jimmy and Mike, and they never intersect. It's like 2 separate shows. Extremely frustrating to watch.

Honestly I agree with this. It was way too slow of a burn. Each episode didn't need to last as long as it did. If breaking bad wasn't a thing this show would have flopped so hard on its own.

"Boring" is often synonymous with "it needs to set things up first". You have to wait before all the crazy action (which there's plenty of) bc you need to first be familiar with the characters and understand their backgrounds. It's essential to the latter portion of the show

I can understand needing to wait as things are set up. I don't expect immediate action right out the gate, but when I say "boring" (which I don't, and didn't), I talk about it not grabbing my attention. It didn't grab me to want me to stick around to see what it was building up to.

No I know, I really wanted to be into it because the clips I was seeing, the show looked good. When I started to watch it, the show was already out for a while so I probably could have binged it on a weekend and gave it more of a chance.

The only show the "acquired taste" I needed was for the start of Hunter x Hunter. It was definitely worth it. For Better Call Saul it was not.

Breaking Bad is one of the greatest shows ever, and I liked Better Call Saul almost as much. In fact, I liked it better in some ways. While each has absolute fantastic characters and character development/devolution, I'd get the slight edge to Better Call Saul there. Breaking Bad has one of the best finales, ever. I didn't enjoy the epilogue of Better Call Saul. I would have loved to have seen it end when Jimmy is standing at his desk and you know he's truly become Saul Goodman.

Definitely unpopular. That show was crazy engaging. I suppose you have to care about character development, but please yourself. If you didn't get to the last season, you missed out. The payoffs were something else. Namaste!

Saul Goodman was my least favorite character in Breaking Bad. I couldn't believe he got his own show, lol. I keep hearing it's good, but I just can't take that much of him in one sitting.
