I am just amused by the amount of times you mentioned drugs, when they're not even the issue. The issue is the approach to drugs. They are incredibly useful when used properly, prescribed by doctors. And if you're talking about strictly the "bad" drugs, the issue is that people don't get the help they need. They're sick, frowned upon and that's why they turn to criminality. Decriminalizing drugs has done a good chuck of good and it should be done worldwide And plastics do suck, but they allowed us incredible advancement, so you get some you lose some. It's how progress goes

Yes I was referring to the bad drugs. I agree that plastic is very convenient and beneficial in some ways but its absolutely devastating in others specifically our envirement (which happens to be our home and only home mind you unless we find another planet to live on soon... spoilers- we won't) and bad for our health in general.

Stuff like that happens in the name of progress. We had no idea it would end up like this, but plastic is so convenient, cheap and versatile that it's just hard not to use it, especially when it's so integrated in our consumer society

By plastics, do you mean synthetic polymers? There are a number of natural polymers, such as polyresins, that decompose at a much slower rate than synthetic ones, such as polylactic acid. Yeah, you've also got polystyrene, and that causes all kinds of problems in the environment, but it does eventually break down. As far as some of them being ultra persistent in mamalian tissues, we still got research we are doing on how to extract that stuff, and I'm not really a fan of the term "forever chemical" because I think it's a little misleading. But I do see your point.

A large percentage of plastic is extremely important and we wouldnt have the quality of life we have without it. With proper recycling measures and reduction of single use plastic we could eliminate most of the negative effects of plastic without eliminating plastic
