+34 I hate looking so much younger than my age. It's a curse not a blessing. amirite?

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Just wait another 20 years and then for the rest of your life your "curse" will be a blessing 👍🏼

This is not true. My mom always looked super young for her age but once she hit 50, that no longer applied.

by Terdman 4 weeks ago

True but 20 years is so long 😭

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

The day after my 27th birthday I was asked for ID when I tried to buy soft drinks (legal age for buying is 16.) Couple of years ago that would've pissed me off but I've reached an age where it truly feels like the compliment that people say it is. I got so annoyed when I was younger when someone told me that I'd be happy about it when I am older. But now that I am I realise they were right.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

probably not even that long. maybe in 10 years or even less depending on OP's diet and lifestyle.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

have you considered starting to smoke and perhaps recreational sunbathing?

by prosaccozelda 4 weeks ago

I already practice recreational sunbathing and smoke occasionally haha

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Pick up the pace on smoking then!

by maxwell02 4 weeks ago

But it's bad for you in other ways and leads to lung cancer, smoking breath, and an ugly sounding voice.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Then just stick to meth.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Yeah try NOT to smoke

I am 30 but look like early 20s. People still look at me sideways when they see my ID. I'm dating a woman who is 34 and I think people judge us sometimes. We went to a casino this weekend and the lady in front goes "you turn 21 today or something?" Then seeing I was 30 she was like "oh sorry old man"

by Mindless-Chef256 4 weeks ago

Omg that's how I feel in Vegas too 😂

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

That's normal for 30. I think people expect you to turn into an old gargoyle when you hit 30 so they're shocked when you actually look good. Most 30 year old could easily pass for younger because no one knows what 30 is supposed to look like

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Yeah some people look 30 at 21 and some look 30 at 40 is kinda wild. There were dudes balding in my high school

by Mindless-Chef256 4 weeks ago

Im a short guy I sort of agree. I just don't like everyone thinking i'm 12-15 every time someone speaks to me. Don't want to look I'm 20 going on 35 lol.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

So true. I was looking back at my high school graduation pics yesterday from 6 years ago and I literally look the exact same 😂

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Im 37 and ive been told i look 27. Heres my secret, no kids, no alcohol, no hard drugs.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Honestly yeah, it's why I let my beard grow out and I don't shave it fully. Just trim it.

by Taya98 4 weeks ago

Wait.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

I can see how it is a problem to fit in with other people your age. That's too bad and probably is pretty annoying sometimes But people don't mind looking younger once they are actually quite old. Your height is probably the main reason you look younger if I had to guess. Some people can keep a baby face for a long time, but if they are tall enough people assume they are adults still.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

I was telling men I was still in high school when I was 25. I'm almost 32 now and now look like I've matured. Wait a few years and the youngness will fall off your face. Then you too will get excited when someone cards you 😂😂

by zeldagraham 4 weeks ago

I feel your pain. I was asked for my ID when I went to watch a horror movie a couple years ago and I'm 27. It's always awkward when I start talking to someone and they go from thinking I'm younger than them to realising I'm actually older. Since I'm a man no one tells me it's a blessing so I assume it's even more annoying for you.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Like you, I looked younger than I was. I hated it then. But when I got carded at age 34, I changed my mind. Believe me, in a few years when your friends reminisce about when they were young enough to get carded and bemoaning signs of aging, you'll be grateful. In the meantime, maybe wear a button that says "Member AARP." 🙂

People pay thousands of dollars to look young. I empathize with you frustration, but try to flip the script here.

by Open_Hand9920 4 weeks ago

Sameeee. I'm a 23 year old man but I look 16.

Not so low key humble brag

by Jolly_Count 4 weeks ago

While this could be a "humble" brag, I can see why people would definately be annoyed if others constantly think they look 16 at 24. If you literally forget your ID on a night out, it's over. All being said, it's not that uncommon. In films, they always focus on the senior high school students looking very grown. In reality, if you go to college and take a look at the college freshmans-sophmores they could be high school passing, potentially even high school freshman passing.

Been there, done that, and I was just like you at your age. Not only did I look 14, I also sounded like it. I remember calling a guy about a car he had for sale after I totaled mine, and he was like, "Put your parents on the phone." I said, "Why? I'm 24. It's unnecessary." He got all rude and said, "Look, I don't do business with little kids." Needless to say, he didn't get a sale. Asshole. 😡 Fast forward a bunch of years to now. I'm a few weeks from turning 57, and girrrrrrl ... it's a BLESSING. I love it, cos I'm frankly not ready to be this old yet. Hopefully that's how you'll start feeling as the years go by.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

Just wait ... in your 40's it will pay off and you'll be thankful. I still get carded, and then they pour on the compliments and admit some embarrassment for asking. I just tell them; "Thanks. My boyish good looks in high school are paying off!" (M41)

Oh to be young! I remember those days and miss them so much! Please please please enjoy your young looks! While it's a pain right now, when you are older you will bemoan every wrinkle and gray hair. You will obsess over pictures of your younger self and wonder why you didn't appreciate or notice how great you looked! I speak from experience! That said, wear sunscreen, eat right, exercise, and smile a lot. (I'm 51 and run across this one photo of me at 39, and wish I had the smooth forehead and nice skin of that year! Be well and enjoy your future!)

Don't worry. You'll get there

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

I'm in the same boat as a 25 y/o male, and there's not a day that goes by where I don't think of it. I'm 6'2", so when I was 15 years old people told me I looked like I could be 21; now, people tell me I look 19. I hate facial hair, but have anxiety about shaving because I want to look as old as possible. I was recently a groomsmen at a wedding, and the best man was 19 years old. When they handed out the glasses of champagne for the toast, they gave him his without question, and hesitated when they got to me and said "Are you 21?" It's humiliating.

by Anonymous 4 weeks ago

This isn't really an opinion, more of a rant/complaint.

Start smoking
