Moms twerking at the family gathering is not a big deal, amirite?
by Anonymous9 months ago
This is such an odd take but ok. I think it's perfectly reasonable for a child to be uncomfortable with their mother shaking their ass in front of them.

It's wild that this is even a debatable thing.

Some kids see their parents divorce and start dating. Some kids walk in on their parents doing it. Just part of growing up. Kids see a lot of things that make them uncomfortable. Part of raising a kid is teaching them how to handle uncomfortable situations. The kid who gets his world view smashed by seeing his mom twerk can grow up to be unstable in uncomfortable situations as an adult. What happens if that kid gets a girlfriend later on and sees her dancing all crazy at spring break? We aren't the taliban. Our women are allowed to dance crazy.

I'm not sure how seeing one's mother twerking relates to seeing a girlfriend twerking later in life but alright.. I'm not saying that women aren't allowed to dance but if your child is visibly uncomfortable with you twerking in front of them, you should respect that boundary and your child.

Where do you draw the line? If a child doesnt want you to date do you not date? If a child doesnt want to see mom in a bikini do you cover up at the beach?
by Anonymous8 months ago
You're comparing things that aren't even close… You're obviously super passionate about twerking in front of children and have your mind made up so go off.
by Anonymous8 months ago
I'm not passionate about twerking. I am a bit more concerned with the principle. Also i sense a lot of ugliness behind the outrage. Racism. Misogyny. Freudian issues. Its the perfect time for getting young men worked up over the behavior of women and minorities right now.

Totally agree, if you think mothers shaking their asses in the faces of 7-year-olds at a kids' birthday party is wrong, you're probably a racist bigot. I see absolutely no reason to object to this.
by Anonymous8 months ago
Not quite. There is a correlation though.
by Anonymous8 months ago
Where was there any racism in anything I said? I'm also a woman so no misogyny here. God forbid a mother finds their child's feelings more important than twerking.

Why?
by LetterheadPowerful198 months ago
Why is your mother grinding her ass sexually in front of you and your friends uncomfortable? Seriously?
by Anonymous8 months ago
Even if I sound like a prude, it's kind of a lewd thing and, to a child, to have their mother doing it in front of them must be odd. I doubt most people liked seeing their parents kiss, so this is that x100. I'm all for freedom of expression but have some dignity in front of the child

It's degenerate. One should not do things sexually provocative in front of children, or at a family gathering. It's not "just a dance". It IS sexually provocative.
by OpeningImplement8 months ago
Oh ok. Degenerate? You know how many other dances they said that about back in the day? They wouldn't even show elvis dancing on tv. Look at traditional eurasian wedding dances to this day women do a boob twerking dance and it is an ancient tradition and is classy. Degenerate. Lol. Who are you? The morality police?
by Anonymous8 months ago
Just because something may be someone's tradition, or a lot of people like it or do it, does not make it right. There is a lot of people agreeing that many degenerate activities are good and fine. Butt cheeks opening up, bouncing up and down, come on, you have to be deLuLu to think that is anywhere near classy.

OP is just trolling for engagement
by Anonymous8 months ago
Yeah the only reasonable explanation tbh. It's so outlandish.
by Anonymous8 months ago
Says the person throwing around words like "degenerate".

Where do you draw the line? Is pole dancing inappropriate? Does a mother have to start stripping for her actions to be inappropriate? Does she have to give a lap dance? Personally, I think a mother should have a little more respect for herself than to twerk infront of her children.

"How dare anyone assert that there's such a thing as decent behavior in this world"
by Stammlizeth8 months ago
It depends on the age honestly. Whenever they can understand to like, 9 i could understand, but actual outrage beyond 10 years old is excessive. The worst thing is that their teenager thinks they're cringe, so what? If you're twerking in front of an 8 year old, that's weird.
by Anonymous8 months ago
Absolutely, tacky and a little odd for sure but child abuse is an overreaction.
