I think that's not true anymore for most schools. I bet if you took the average of the grades kids are getting these days, it would be more in the A or B range than the C range.
It depends on where you go. My school it's ok. But at my friends school, their grades go A B C F and a B is just ok and a C is bad and an A is good. But at my school, we include D's in our grades so a D is bad C is average B is good A is really good.

For Alberta diplomas, they try to create the test so there's an average of 67%.
Indian parents: an A stands for "AVERAGE."
B stands for "you get BEAT"
