OP says that OG mac and cheese is the boxed stuff…

by nathanialgerhol 7 months ago

Man you can't give all that hype and not include the recipe :(

by Anonymous 7 months ago

This doesn't sound all that great to me, Signed, a Canadian who loves KD

by Danyka01 7 months ago

Yes! I love Kraft Mac and cheese when I'm at home and feeling lazy, but I don't even put it in the same category as real mac and cheese in my head. They're totally different foods.

by Beckersedrick 7 months ago

You sound like one of those mono-eaters. Nothing but french fries or frozen pizza for every single meal. I'll eat Kraft, but it's a far cry from all the amazing variations of home made and restaurant made mac and cheese. You ain't no foodie, that's for sure. A very sad opinion and I feel sorry for you and your taste buds.

by whitemaryjane 7 months ago

my mom used to teach kindergarten and said the kids only ever wanted to eat fries, chicken nuggets/fingers, grilled cheese, mac n cheese(the way op described), tots and stuff like that. she calls it the beige diet and it's what I think of anytime I hear an opinion like ops - that of a 5 year old.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I love me a nice gouda mac & cheese

by Anonymous 7 months ago

YES! One time I had gouda mac and cheese with some hatch chiles and bacon. Just mildly hot with that hatch chile flavor and the bacon was high quality. So good. Gouda is one of my favorite cheeses.

by whitemaryjane 7 months ago

When they let you out of prison, try some real food.

by Wardphoebe 7 months ago

If Kraft mac and cheese is the best Mac you had, I am sorry for your loss. You need to find nice Southern old lady to cook you some baked mac and cheese. That is just perfectly seasoned for you. You're really missing a very important part of your life and a very important artery clogged.

by PreferenceOk 7 months ago

The BBQ joint near my house growing up did this amazing cheese sauce with some French cheeses (can't recall which ones), and 10 years later I'm still chasing that dragon

by lottie63 7 months ago

I've been waiting for someone to bring up lobster mac and cheese. OMG.

by whitemaryjane 7 months ago

a whole lotta words just to tell us you have terrible taste in food.

by tmann 7 months ago

I can cook pretty decently. People usually really like my food. I've yet to make a max and cheese better than Kraft, and I've tried a metric ton of recipes. Don't get me wrong, they're delicious in their own respect. I personally like baking it with breadcrumbs after. They still don't compare. Maybe it's because I grew up with Kraft, so there's an aspect of nostalgia that just can't be replicated.

by turcottecarrie 7 months ago

Kraft is consistency. I've had some great Mac and cheeses at some places but absolutely bad at other places. Some go light on the cheese sauce. Some add stupid stuff like breadcrumbs or bacon bits.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Nope, you went mono eater on this. I'm a mono eater and I would not touch kraft mac and cheese to save my life. Not all of us eat this weird a way as you think we do. Mine is because I have twice as many taste buds than most folks do and my brain recognizes tastes in different areas of my tongue than most people do. People who purposely eat powdered processed cheese like crap can't talk about someone being a foodie because they obviously can't taste anything anyway.

by Dependent-Cheetah419 7 months ago

I'm quite a foodie and I agree with OP, except I think Cheetos Flamin' Hot is better than Kraft.

by Due-Can 7 months ago

Fax. my gf's like this while i'm here sauteeing everything in garlic, eating 90% dark chocolate and drinking black coffee 😂

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I mean everyone under 10 agrees. But for adults this is deeply unpopular.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

OP probably thinks black pepper is "spicy".

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I think this is the key as to why I agree with OP. Maybe I just don't actually like dairy all that much. Would explain why my favorite ice cream is Dairy Queen even though it can't even legally be called "ice cream."

by trystan44 7 months ago

It was macaroni and cheese before grocery pre packaged foods was even a thing.

by Edward35 7 months ago

Do you somehow think Kraft came first??

by Difficult_Zombie 7 months ago

You think they were using Cheese-like powder in the 14th century?

by Medhurstmaye 7 months ago

Are you saying Kraft came first?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Confidently Incorrect is calling you

by Anonymous 7 months ago

It's cause there's a ton of sugar in it

by Anonymous 7 months ago

And a half stick of butter

by Anonymous 7 months ago

There's way more than half a stick in real mac n cheese

by Difficult_Zombie 7 months ago

What do you think they put in the restaurant version that's multiple melted cheeses and heavy cream, butter and with a side of pasta?

by stellabradtke 7 months ago

there should be no sugar in fresh made mac & cheese.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yeah, no I agree with you, I'm just saying why.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I don't discriminate. I'm down for whatever version is being served.

by Estrellakeebler 7 months ago

As a 33 year old that grew up loving and then hating and then again loving Kraft… I can appreciate real Mac n cheese but… Nothing hits quite like Kraft Mac n cheese! I've graduated from demanding shape Mac to the spirals bc, you know.. maturity 💁🏻‍♀️

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Idk man the shapes just hit different. Need to get me one of those every couple years

by Beckersedrick 7 months ago

Mac & Cheese and Hot Dogs <3

by stellabradtke 7 months ago

Also also.. Mac n cheese with broccoli! Or even little cut up pieces of chicken. It's so versatile !! I've even used the cheese powder packets to make broccoli cheddar soup lmao, I see you friend

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I do love my boxed Mac and cheese but Annie's is miles ahead of kraft in that category.

by Thin-Instruction 7 months ago

Ok I get where you're coming from… but sometimes you're just craving kraft and nothing else has that same plastic cheese taste to scratch that itch 😂

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I think it tastes salty and I like actual cheese, not cheese like things

by Crafty_Present6299 7 months ago

There's a restaurant I go to called sliced that makes everything they serve from scratch and they have a mini Mac and cheese menu. So far I've tried vodka shrimp, honey Sriracha, and truffle and mushroom, and they've all been fantastic. I never realized Mac and cheese could taste so good. Hand made noodles with in house cheese blends melted over them.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Mac and cheese is pasta with milk, butter and a cheese like powder You've never had good mac and cheese. I feel sorry for you

by GreedyEye 7 months ago

"It's pasta drenched in a cheese sauce" So it's macaroni… and cheese?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I never understand when people have opinions like this but haven't actually tried the homemade version.

by nathanialgerhol 7 months ago

Any roux-based cheese sauce is going to be worlds better than that synthetic dairy product you love slurping down This take is just dumb

by Anonymous 7 months ago

"cheese-like powder" is why, even as a kid, I found Kraft Max and Cheese SO GROSS. 🤢 I still find most Kraft Products very nasty. I make a homemade Mac And Cheese that's to die for. I make most things with self-grown or self-made products, with the exception of milk. Making homemade cheese is so easy, and the end result of whatever you make with it is going to be so much better than whatever a restaurant or Kraft dishes out

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Baby mouth

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I will agree as far as restaurants. But I have been to some cookouts that would make you eat your words

by Anonymous 7 months ago

OP eats the same gruel for every meal. You really think he eats words?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I actually lowkey know what they're talking about with restaurant macaroni and cheese. It def depends where you go, but some restaurants will absolutely just slather this weird cheese pasta sauce over the noodles and it's gross. Home baked macaroni and cheese obviously beats out Kraft, but I do think that Kraft is better than the restaurants claiming they make macaroni and cheese but really just use that cheese sauce.

by oceane08 7 months ago

Annie's is also a solid alternative, and Trader Joe's has its own brand for cheap as well.

by Binsalec 7 months ago

Lol

by Anonymous 7 months ago

No.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I wouldn't say its the only good Mac and cheese but it's tue standard which I judge all others on. It's really good

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Mom and pop shops who make homestyle mac n cheese and southern buffets have the best mac and cheese. I'd prefer kraft over the cheap, fast-food restaurant style mac n cheese. They're almost the same thing, but kraft tastes better.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I'm hooked on Annie's Real Aged Cheddar mac & cheese now.

by Weekly-Individual 7 months ago

Kraft has its place but velveeta is kind of goated too. I don't always have milk in the house to properly make Kraft. I just think the cheese packets are easier. The Cracker Barrel Mac and cheese in the boxes are pretty solid. I feel like you get more too.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Our sweet tomatoes didn't survive covid, but their mac n cheese was so good

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Velveeta is the best

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Never seen a take more objectively wrong in my life.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

tf u mean? the wicked mac and cheese JUST came out...

by Anonymous 7 months ago

You've never had great restaurant Mac n Cheese. IMO the Mac n cheese at Roaring Fork in Austin is my fave.

by Kenyapagac 7 months ago

How's middle school

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I could make better mac and cheese than Kraft in my sleep lol

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Here's the sad thing. They changed the recipe of Kraft macaroni & cheese a few years back. Most people didn't notice it but to some it's ruined forever

by Mckennaheaney 7 months ago

You seem like someone who is a picky eater who eats chicken fingers and Kraft macaroni and cheese as an adult.

by Substantial_North393 7 months ago

This take. I like.

Correct opinion as I have iPad kid sensibilities and only like processed easy to make true American foods

by Anonymous 7 months ago

This opinion is so trash, the Mob gets a cut every time someone reads it.

by EmotionalOcelot3931 7 months ago

Stouffers Mac and cheese is far superior to kraft if you're not going to make it from scratch.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yeah this is a horrible opinion

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Cheese-like powder? You mean "cheese"? Regular mac and cheese does NOT use cheese powder, let alone "cheese-like" powder.

by Loud_Scientist 7 months ago

Bro be like, mm, yellow 5

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Ngl, the Spongebob Squarepants shaped mac and cheese will always hit

by Anonymous 7 months ago

You forgot the part where your mommy makes airplane noises while she's feeding you the mac and cheese.

by nbalistreri 7 months ago

You just like processed garbage lol

by bodeclint 7 months ago

I disagree. The only good Mac & cheese is the one I make from scratch in my kitchen.

by Nienoweldridge 7 months ago

Wut. I've never worked at a restaurant were the mac and cheese didn't have heavy cream in it.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Have you ever tried real cheese?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Kraft mac'n'cheese is disgusting and is absolutely asking to get a stomach ache.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Who hurt you?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I'm with you. Even worse, I like it room temp and semi congealed.

by Suitable_Singer 7 months ago

Trash taste buds

by kenlind 7 months ago

It's not even the best of the boxed mac and cheese's.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I completely agree. I remember the first time I ever had Mac and Cheese at someone else's house and it was gross cheesy pasta. I had only eaten KD before and was so disappointed

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Canada loves Kraft Mac and cheese.

by TieOne457 7 months ago

I dunno, I can make a bacon and chorizo mac n cheese that'll knock your socks off!

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Lol! The only Mac n Cheese I like is Kraft. None of the homemade stuff for me. Just Kraft.

by Weak-Letterhead8447 7 months ago

by Disastrous-Still 7 months ago

Have you ever made yourself homemade Mac and cheese? That stuff is some of the best food that I've ever eaten, especially when my mom used to make it.

by nickankunding 7 months ago

I am here for you

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Not really BUT the shape Mac and cheese? Maybe can talk.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Well… ok. Enjoy your chemical soup lol

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Now this is a truly unpopular opinion

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I haven't had it in forever but Outback mac and cheese is amazing.

by Neat-Layer-4229 7 months ago

Im gonna put you on something even better than Kraft. Try the great value brand cheapo Mac and cheese

by This_Farm 7 months ago

This gives off vibes of someone that eats a steak well done with A1 sauce. Box Mac and cheese has a nostalgic place but it's mid at best.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I bet you say instant ramen noodles are better than real ramen too huh?

by MotherDragonfly 7 months ago

I agree but you have to try goodles

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I disagree, but I can agree that the Kraft version is waaay better than it should be given what it is.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Mac and cheese sucks, no matter how you spin it.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I mostly agree, but I've had a few homemade ones that are better.

by Diligent-Driver-546 7 months ago

Agreeddddd

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Okay... Okay yeah that's unpopular for sure. Kraft is so unique from all other Mac and cheese, it's like it's own thing and if you want to say that's what mac and cheese is and that it's the best sure. But Mac and cheese actually is pasta and cheese sauce

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Absolute gutter palate

by Double_Water 7 months ago

"Pasta drenched in cheese sauce" my brother in Christ that's literally the definition of Mac and cheese. Macaroni + cheese. It's in the name.

by kleineduardo 7 months ago

Mac n Cheese in general sucks ass. I've had many different kinds. Homemade, best BBQ spots in Texas, boxes. It's all ass.

by TheseDecision2544 7 months ago

Thanks, triggered me, the water is on the stove to boil..

by aidanhahn 7 months ago

Someone's never had the crispy baked Mac n cheese from the Marianos hot bar.

by Still_Influence 7 months ago

Speaking of Kraft...if you have to eat Kraft...you can add some real cheese to it and make it better. I'll toss in some fresh grated parmigiano reggiano and maybe some sharp cheddar or gouda or whatever is around. My mom always "doctored up" convenience foods and I don't always feel like making things from complete scratch.

by whitemaryjane 7 months ago

black families thanksgiving mac n cheese > everything else

by Wuckertellen 7 months ago

I love all the mfers in here like, "no no no you don't understand, I bake it! With flour and butter! And then cheese!!!1! And one very specific spice!!!!!" and think they get a Michelin star.

by Danyka01 7 months ago

The Kraft velveeta and deluxe versions are much better than the original powdered one. Because the powdered one is only good when it's hot off the stove … it loses its flavor as it cools and reheating it doesn't help. The other kraft versions contain "real" (not powdered) cheese and this issue affects them far less. As for restaurants - yeah, I've had many that are genuinely not better than Kraft. But many that blow Kraft out of the water.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Only real ones know Kraft Dinner > Mac & Cheese.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I have to agree, while other Mac and cheeses do the trick, cuz I don't eat it often, they don't hit home quite like Kraft. Only once have I come across a restaurant Mac and cheese that I loved, and even then I drenched it with other stuff

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I agreed with this but would add that Velveeta is a debatable second. Cracker Barrel can kick rocks

by Significant_Date5105 7 months ago

seriously wtf is that garbage!???? it makes me mad to even think i spent $2 cuz i was suckered into it by marketing vibes

by Gullible-Cover 7 months ago

I think everyone was. Lol

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Velveeta products including their high grade mac and cheese with the squeeze gooey chees always tastes way too salty for me. Really any of their products. Salty and less cheesy flavor than Kraft fake cheese products.

by whitemaryjane 7 months ago

Just looking at Velveeta makes me queasy. I don't like cheese except on Pizza and a burger.

by stellabradtke 7 months ago

You never just lop off a chunk of cheddar from the fridge when you're baked? No? Just me?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I don't need to be stoned to do this. I'm from Wisconsin. That's just normal.

by Difficult_Zombie 7 months ago

Velveta isnt even real cheese. It serves no representation for the many cheeses of the world

by Anonymous 7 months ago

My old roommate used to do that with shredded cheese when she was drunk (after finishing a 24 pack to herself). She would also eat the second half of my dinner I would leave for the next day. And she also got into my dogs food a few times. She never cared to discuss that last one with me the next day when I'd ask questions.

by stellabradtke 7 months ago

Fair enough, personally I'd roll around in the stuff.

by Significant_Date5105 7 months ago

by javonte67 7 months ago

I hate that powdered crap. Didn't like it even as a kid. My favorite is made with five kinds of cheese including sharp cheddar, Gruyère, Parmesan, smoked Asiago, and Gouda. Also has bacon and chipotle peppers. The peppers make a big difference.
