+31 Mike Tyson should be blamed just as much as Jake Paul is blamed for making this fight happen. amirite?

by Ok_Title_4643 7 months ago

I just don't understand... People are coming in droves to support jake paul because they hate jake paul Is everyone actually this stupid?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yes. Hate watchers are morons.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I genuinely don't get hate watching, if i dislike something so much then i am not wasting my time watching it.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

It's classic heel pro wrestling tactics. If he makes us hate him and want to see him get knocked out, it's all the same to him. It's money in his pocket. Floyd did the same.

by adriana81 7 months ago

To be fair they didn't "make" us hate Paul, nobody has liked Paul for years now. It's a good marketing stunt.

by selmerjenkins 7 months ago

This is exactly what I've been saying! This felt like ric flair vs Shawn Michaels. The way the Paul brothers treat boxing is a bit disrespectful for the boxers that actually train and fight competitively. They only care about drawing money

by Anonymous 7 months ago

It's a hustle. Boxing has always had one foot into the freak show carni side. Celebrity boxing. Floyd fighting small Asian kickboxers. Ali fighting Antonio Inoki in a mixed rules bout. Boxing isn't some sacred sport. Where the money goes, boxing will go. The Paul Brothers are just the most recent example of this (along with all youtuber boxing.)

by adriana81 7 months ago

Yeah this actually reminds me a lot of the manny v Floyd fight people were dissapointed when it was all technical overly cautious fighting like this one was. Tyson didn't actually score that bad it just makes for a boring fight. Boxing has been all hype for a while now and it's usually not the aggro beat down people want.

by Kyliepaucek 7 months ago

Look at the state of the world. Of course everyone is this stupid

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I don't think so. The numbers for Jake's last fights were not even close to this. People came to watch Mike, not to hate on Jake Paul.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I'll show my ass and take some hits for $20m.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

does anyone know how the pay worked without the ppv? Was it just a flat check from netflix or was it based off of viewership

by Lisette00 7 months ago

I heard well before the fight that Jake was getting 40m and Mike was getting 20m so, assuming those numbers are right, they got paid a flat amount.

by adriana81 7 months ago

Watching that fight felt like i was watching elder abuse.

by Infamous-Violinist 7 months ago

Yeah it's insane that people are this worked up over publicity stunt fight between a YouTube celebrity and a senior citizen. Watch it if you want, but I don't get how people are this invested.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

blame yourself for watching it

by camronrath 7 months ago

It was fine, boxing is fine. The lower cards really went all out.

by turcotteemilian 7 months ago

Those two girls fought like they wanted to kill each other

by Big_Negotiation4497 7 months ago

Yep, what a fight! I wished it was longer and not the two minute rounds... but damn what a fight.

by turcotteemilian 7 months ago

Truth

by Honest-Day5973 7 months ago

Yeah like if Netflix had actually worked I would have enjoyed this night a lot more the Tyson fight was the worst one but the other ones were all pretty good.

by Kyliepaucek 7 months ago

I was literally freezing up all night. That girls fight was by far the highlight of an otherwise terrible night.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I can't look at open cuts and blood, I think I caught 15% of the fight after her gash

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Didn't see 2nd one. Froze too much

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Ah, you missed a great fight. I'd say it was by far the best one. See if you can't find a replay somewhere.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Almost like more people tuned in for the main event than for the undercards? What do you expect?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Running recorded shows and live shows are very different skills. Netflix didn't hire the right people.

by ZombieContent2315 7 months ago

I'm worried about the Christmas football games.

by Maximillianstra 7 months ago

Netflix is too

by Anonymous 7 months ago

They didn't say "more people". They said "the right people". They're saying the people in charge didn't anticipate the servers being flooded. They should have had a more competent group of people with enough foresight to anticipate this sort of thing at the helm.

by Juvenal75 7 months ago

That's exactly Tristan's point. The billion dollar company dropped the ball.

by dgoldner 7 months ago

I gad the exact opposite problem

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Mine was the opposite

by Anonymous 7 months ago

And the ones who paid to see it live

by shanelle43 7 months ago

Didn't watch it LOL

by Ok_Title_4643 7 months ago

So you watched people's reactions to the fight? I think that's worse

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I don't see the difference. You followed along with the fight whether you were watching it or reading about it.

by valliebauch 7 months ago

The Serrano/Taylor fight was really good though.

by Own-Piglet-3999 7 months ago

Absolutely savage! I'm glad about the Tyson/Paul match up otherwise I'd never have seen it. The Ramos vs Barrios fight was good too

by Fun-Buy9009 7 months ago

The result tho..

by Handreanna 7 months ago

All according to plan.

by nicholaus28 7 months ago

The viewers are the losers in this.

by Old_Cardiologist7280 7 months ago

It's their own fault for expecting anything other than what happened. Lol.

by ChapterBubbly 7 months ago

Especially those who bought front row tickets and paid 30k+ for a seat 😂

by Ornery-Tax 7 months ago

It was a masterful marketing ploy can't even hate would do the same thing in their positions

by Key-Lawyer 7 months ago

Mike was probably presented with a very tempting offer and he has a history of taking bad advice and making bad financial decisions.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Mike got swung at by a not very good fighter for 16 minutes. What part of this is bad for him ?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

A not very good fighter would not have lasted those 2 rounds before Mike was gassed

by hubertkreiger 7 months ago

Being 58 and taking hits to the head is a lot different than being 20 and doing the same thing. I think it was kinda obvious at a certain point that Jake wasnt gonna just go full 100% because Mike is just too old man lol Im ngl I think jake couldve really hurt him and lots of people are gonna have trouble admitting that.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Honestly, I agree, and I came into the fight wanting Tyson to knock Jake's head off because he's an insufferable internet douche bag. To me it seemed like rounds 1 and 2 were Jake testing the waters to see how it would go. Then 3 and onward, when Mike's age started to show, he did what he could but didn't truly try because it was obvious Mike isn't what he used to be. Maybe that isn't what truly was going on but it's how I saw it. It would have been awesome to have a crazy fight but Mike didn't seem to have it in him after round 2.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

20 million

by Anonymous 7 months ago

crazy how he got less than jake

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Because it's Jake's fight. No ones paying him he's paying himself x. He owns the promotion company so he pays Tyson 20m and keeps the profit

by hailee32 7 months ago

This is my real question. Mike could fight anyone and we'd have tuned in. Could care less about Paul fighting anyone else

by beerforest 7 months ago

Dude, he's 58, what do you want from him

by Wilsonparisian 7 months ago

Was obvious his legs were weighing him down after the first 2 rounds.

by Handreanna 7 months ago

I turned it off in round 3 when Paul got some hits in. It's not fun to see an old man get punched by a young man

by Wilsonparisian 7 months ago

It went about as well as it could once that became obvious. Jake never went nuts or even tried. He sort of did what he needed to do to not be overly disrespectful. He even bowed at the end of the final round when it was clear Mike had no real chance of winning.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

This is how I find out who won

by No-Indication 7 months ago

what did you expect? to see mike dead? i'm sure there was some clause in the contract that said he can't get knocked out. he's 58, a knockout could be deadly.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Definitely.

by Handreanna 7 months ago

You should be mad at yourself for believing it was going to be some great or even good match.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I wouldn't be surprised if part of this, scripted or not, was Mike simply wanting to see how he held up today. Which wasn't well, but it's an answer.

by Small-Breakfast 7 months ago

I could see that. There was a little hope in the first 2 rounds then it was all a sad slow drop downhill.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I find it crazy that people believe this was a legit fight. Did people really think Jake was going to lose to Mike? It would hurt his brand too much

by Gold-Context6698 7 months ago

Thats why I put money on Paul and the fight to go the distance. Easy $150 for me baby

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Man everything sucks now days its all just a money grab. Back in tysons era everyone had honor in what they did you were only the best if you fought for it. Now we have this BS

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Tbf, Mayweather was the true dip in quality. Basically watching two dudes play tag with mittens on since then.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Precisely why I'm confused why anyone watches anything with the Pauls, it's all predetermined, but people will forget when he fights some other old big name and the same exact thing happens lol

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Grifters gonna grift. I'm also surprised at how fast we forget history.

by elwynauer 7 months ago

100%, let's see what the next grift is 😂

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I mean... you could watch real boxing still

by Short_Bumblebee2181 7 months ago

True

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Wtf are you talking about "honor" when Tyson was a drug cheat himself and ducked fighters like Lewis and Bowe. Boxers today like Usyk and Inoue have more honor than Tyson ever did.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Blaming an ENTERTAINER and an OLD MAN for propping up a SHOW is crazy. People expecting something more than what it really was is on them. It's like putting on a pr0n movie and expecting great acting. 🤔

by Ortizkenton 7 months ago

YT STAR vs Very Retired Cannabis Farming Shroom Eating Mike Tyson People: omg i cant wait for this professional heavyweight match Like. Its a jake paul fight, for one. And Mike Tyson is damn near able to get on medicare due to his age lmao.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Tyson was hitting twice as hard and moving twice as fast in a dozen different videos during his training camp. Either those training videos were total smoke and mirrors, or the fight was fixed before hand and neither guy was really trying to hurt each other.

by Wunschalene 7 months ago

As hard as it was to watch, 100+ million people spent 30 minutes hoping Mike could get a clean shot on Jake and knock him out. Now, back to reality.

by trantowhettie 7 months ago

That fight was sad as heck

by Safe_Painting 7 months ago

Was actually kinda sad when Mike was walking out, we're all getting old

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I don't think Mike really trained it was for Show

by Gold-Context6698 7 months ago

It's all a big show, but he definitely trained some at least enough to get him into believable "Fighting" shape for an almost 60 year old man.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Nah I think he was just gassed like any 58 year old would be. But I also wouldn't be surprised if him and Paul had a gentleman's agreement where neither get knocked out.

by Chad82 7 months ago

He was tired for sure. But there were myriad opportunities that he didn't take. It was very obviously not a real fight.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I doubt it, if there was an agreement, it would be considered match fixing which is a serious crime

by hailee32 7 months ago

Lol, no. More like Jake eased up and intentionally didn't want to hurt him. Tyson is 58 and waaaay past his prime. That's what aging does to you.

by SpecificBet6823 7 months ago

For 58 he could still annihilate 99% of people. Tyson wasn't fast enough to chase Jake down anymore but if he had...

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I was hoping for it. As soon as he was announced just to see him sprint down the lane and hop in the ring looking like an angry dog. That or he gets hit real good and snaps to the younger days and just goes all out.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Including Jake Paul.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

As he should, he is a professional boxer in his prime. Let's see how he does at almost 60.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Watch Tysons last 2 fights when he was in his late 30s he got killed by bums worse than Jake..

by Anonymous 7 months ago

This. And Mike was doing what he could do. He won 2 rounds. The first 2. He had to chase a bigger opponent in a bigger ring. He was gassed and his feet weren't moving. His legs were injured before the fight started, but MOSTLY HE'S 58 YEARS OLD! This isn't football and he's not Tom Brady. He doesn't have a team of young athletes in front of him protecting him and a coach drawing up plays that make sure he doesn't get hit. Its boxing. Mike lost all the fights after he slowed down. Its a young man's game.

by Tough_Judgment 7 months ago

I don't blame either for making money, but man, the Pauls are so fake and lame I had to turn it off during his speech. With his brother behind him looking like he was ready to cry cause the attention wasn't on him. I dislike them more than ever now.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

lol Logan had to ride in a car filled with his competitor's drink.

by Diligent-Occasion 7 months ago

Tyson didn't land a proper blow on him and he still sounded like he had brain damage. He was at a boxing event and thanked all the different divisions of the army and emergency services?

by Fun-Buy9009 7 months ago

Paul wouldn't last 30 secs with Canelo lmao, imagine him facing a real boxer in his prime.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

If they do fight , it will be for money . Canelo will be so handicapped with legal clauses specifying exactly what he can and can't do within the script and what will happen to him if he goes off script . If Canelo and Paul does happen , let's be clear …. It will be a performance , not a fight .

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yeah, Canelo has to wear a 48oz pillow on his left, his right is tied to his belt and he has to shuffle around with one of those old timey metal balls on a chain cuffed to his ankles.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yeah that's how I know it won't happen, unless like you said, for a crazy amount of money nobody would turn down.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

A fixed fight between 2 fighters 30 years apart in age as the main fight. Boxing is great

by Anonymous 7 months ago

The real villain was Netflix

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Jake spent the fight prancing and Tyson spent it biting his gloves.

by Ankundingpeter 7 months ago

I think most of us showed up expecting a draw or for Jake to win, but hoping Tyson would win by knockout.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Literally no one is saying this. What are you talking about?

by Lindgrenwalter 7 months ago

Tyson admitted it was an exhibition, but made up the excuse that the 2 min rounds were chosen so that there would be more action. Apparently it's an official fight tho. To make it a fair fight they should've allowed Tyson a couple lines of coke

by ResidentInflation480 7 months ago

I will say the sorrano and taylor fight was fire

by Ok_Beautiful 7 months ago

One good fight out of 4.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Neither needs to be blamed as much as that as that pathetic company called Netflix.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Tyson should still be in jail for nearly beating Robin Givens into a coma.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Boxing is dumb.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yup. Decision is the worst thing ever. I get it. Maybe too many dudes got brain damage or something. But if I am watching a fight, I want a KO, TKO, or Forfeit. Having a fight judges by decision is the dumbest thing I have ever seen and I've always hated it. It's why I don't watch boxing and haven't since I was a kid. This was the first set of boxing matches I've watched in over 25 years. And it's also the last one I'll ever watch for the remainder of my life. I don't watch UFC either, but I'd absolutely choose it over boxing because people get KOed or tapout. I am unsure if UFC has "By Decision" victories too. But if so, that just isn't enjoyable for anyone.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yeah, if they are still standing at the end, you didn't win.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

It made people watch boxing. 🥊 if you or anyone else cant see that then you and all of them missed the point.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

You just had to throw politics into the conversation like throwing a turd into the punch bowl.

by rullrich 7 months ago

Expected outcome? Not a single person I spoke with had Paul to win. I kept telling them they were romanticizing who Tyson was, not who Tyson currently is. They are totally different fighters.

by anjalikris 7 months ago

Vegas had Jake winning

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Most people had Jake winning... Hence the moneyline

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Obviously. As everyone has been saying for over a week now.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Undercard was bangin tho

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I would get blamed for 40 millions dollars without any issue...

by isidro75 7 months ago

This fight might be sadder than the Ali vs Holmes fight

by hegmanndelfina 7 months ago

mike looked pathetic

by maiyapfannersti 7 months ago

Idk where you're getting that idea from, I think most people know it was a cash grab. It's not like Tyson is some senile old man who got tricked into it. I do agree that it was probably always supposed to go the distance

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Did anything actually happen?

by randy87 7 months ago

Let's imagine a void scenario in a universe where money doesn't exist. Mike seemed to have been legitimately confident going into the fight, but it's been too long since he's been hit consistently. He overestimated his abilities for his age. He did his best, without exerting himself too much.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Except boxing still sucks cuz of the judges. Just look at the girls fight.

by Othocollins 7 months ago

Elder abuse.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Tyson was moving like a 58 year old man. Oh yeah, he is. Jake Paul is a clown who boxes other clowns. He would never survive in a fight against a real ranked fighter. I'm wondering if they were testing for steroids because he was all jacked up. Can't wait for him to call out Butterbean.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yeah, they gonna be crying into the millions.

by EndAggravating 7 months ago

It was a fight for money. The entire thing was scripted. Nobody is the asshole because it was exactly what it was supposed to be. All the hype videos of Tyson, the drama and the fight scripted to a T. Tyson is 58 and Paul is 27. If the fight was an actual "fight" Paul would have KOd Tyson but that wasn't the script.

by Available-Worry-3520 7 months ago

So he was suppose to say no to 20 million?

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Mike need the cash broh. Social security is being eliminated

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Nah, there is a commission for a reason. Two men and their representatives presented their reason why they wanted to fight each other for a purse. It was for money because they are prize fighters. The commission and the two parties agreed to set obligations and we had a prize fight where everyone made money and had entertainment.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

a lot of people were saying it's a lose-lose for jake because either he gets beat by an old man or he beats an old man. but most people would take 20 millions dollars for a lose-lose so 😂 props to them lmao

by Anonymous 7 months ago

I've never felt so deceived in life as in this fight. I waited so long to find out that Whindersson Nunes is not just a comedian, to find out that the best fight was the female one and to finally murder my immense expectation with a bought fight.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Yall expected a 58 year old dude with bad knees to fight a dude who's in his prime and half his age? Not too mention this benefits Tyson. He got scammed and lost millions, this fight was gear for his retirement. If you pay for Netflix I'd be more mad at them.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Tyson was metal. In the end it was good sportsmanship - good to see.

by Anonymous 7 months ago

Honestly people's outrage like this is why they made tens of millions on it. No one watched it for the sport everyone watched it to hate it.

by Efficient-Arm 7 months ago
