My neighbor puts up an inflatable ginger bread man...It looks like a giant, smiley turd wearing a Santa hat! 😂😂😂😂

I agree but I wouldn't say it out loud. Oh, hi mom.

If you don't like it, decorate your house with lights. If you do, use the inflatables to your delight. And nothing says you can't use lights AND inflatables. They're literally no different than the old plastiform Santas, Snowmen, and reindeer of yesteryear. I honestly don't care what other people do or use to decorate for the holidays. I will say that look like they store very well (which I assume it part of the appeal) and set up easy. If people can decorate their yard by doing less work it makes sense they'd use the inflatables.

They are tacky for sure. We got one for our kids to enjoy in the yard. Pre-kids, I would never!

Thirty years ago, you could drive down my street and you'd see all but two houses lit up. Now, it's just two that are lit up. To me, this is not an unpopular opinion, and I could probably write a 300 page essay on how depressing Christmas has become in the latter years of my lifetime. Yeah, getting older is part of it, but do you think any kid today could understand the exhilaration of sitting down and going through the Sears Christmas catalog? We've traded away tradition and the simple pleasures to become a lazy, instant-satisfaction world.

Lazy and tacky are two things I love. Those things are too expensive though
