-16 Rao's tomato sauce is gross, amirite?

They were bought out by Campbell's. The brand will get worse.

Extreme difference from what I grew to really enjoy to the last jar I bought recently. Will never buy again. Way to go Campbells!

Unfortunately Raos was bought by Campbell's not too long ago.. I wouldn't be surprised if their quality continues to decline even further over the years.

For what you pay for that you should just make your own

Yep...which is why that if you're going to spend that much on Spaghetti sauce, just make it yourself. A good sauce can be made in 20 minutes. I know people get the idea that it takes a day of simmering but it really doesn't. A couple cans of San Marzano tomatoes, garlic, onion, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes (a couple other basics pantry items), is really all you need to make a good basic marinara sauce for a whole lot less than the cost of a jar of Rao's

Bro, this is a very common opinion. I have no idea why Campbell's would buy an extremely long history successful recipe and immediately change it, but they did. My kids immediately spit it out now. We've switched to other brands. Yo momma! when we want something nice and Costco when we want something good AND cheap (when purchased in bulk). Basically, Yo Momma when I'm feeding other adults and don't have the desire to make my own sauce. Costco sauce for most other occurrences and it's always in our pantry.

I found Yo Mamma vodka sauce so gross. It was like wine and raw tomatoes. Carbone is the best brand of the "fancy" sauces I've tried so far.

For jarred sauce I don't think there's a better option than Classico especially factoring in cost

At this point of capitalism, is there any brand that has stayed true to its origins?
