He called himself a comic while he was unemployed after that juvenile bug eating show of his was canceled. He needed to stay relevant. Then he started a podcast in the last act of desperation, and somehow managed to luck out.

What is there to understand? The dude is a sucker for pseudo science and conspiracy theories. Am I missing anything? It's not about others' opinions, it's the opinions he chooses to promote and bring on his show. It's the ill-informed, anti-science agenda he seems to have become a part of. And the dude is just dull.

Most comedians suck at comedy. It's pretty hard. I've seen a few of his specials. They were kinda funny. Funnier than on his podcast where he's just kind of a normal guy.

Not a fanboy or listener of Rogan's, but he does stand up comedy for money, has stand up specials, and acted in sitcoms. Is he a good comedian? Thats for everyone to decide. But, yes, he is a professional comedian by any definition.

Rogan is not my cup of tea, but his stand up comedy does seem to resonate with certain groups of... well mostly men in their 30's and beyond. I view him like the movie The Big Lebowski. I don't like it. I don't enjoy watching it. But there are enough people out there that do love it to keep it relevant enough to quote it, so I guess it is funny to someone.

I've listened to A LOT of Joe Rogan. I don't so much anymore but back in the day it was almost every podcast. I bet I can count on 1 hand the amount of times he has made me even chuckle.

Most comedians aren't comedians anymore. They have too many other weird goals and agendas now. Seems like there aren't any "comedians" and more truly just want to make people laugh. They're all "above" that now I guess. More people laughing and smiling isn't the goal anymore

He's a comedian. I'd say he can call himself one since he has Netflix specials and got paid, and has been at the Comedy Club since the days of Mitzi Shore. Funny or not, up to you. People can disagree on who's funny and who's not. I'll sleep fine.

I don't think his stand-up is that funny, but then again I don't generally find most stand-up to be all that funny. Haven't listened to Rogan since I left trucking in 2021, but I always enjoyed the hell out of his podcasts - although I skipped the ufc fight episodes and usually skipped the ones with comedians as guests, mostly because it always became a boring comic circle jerk with too much inside baseball.
