Or anything about life...

Life is extremely repetitive and boring. Every day you eat, every day you poop.

by Public_Sale 5 months ago

I don't poop every day.

by Nedrayost 5 months ago

Eat more vegetables and fruit

by Anonymous 5 months ago

I know why I don't poop everyday, it's because I'm eating 1600 calories.

by Nedrayost 5 months ago

Not much, I can see the same patterns in that too.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

And books, and sports, any storytelling, work, hobbies, eating meals. We literally have a few dozen activities we repeat our entire lives.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

What do you enjoy, what are your hobbies?

by Nedrayost 5 months ago

Well. If you reduce anything to simple one sentence summaries then they're going to to sound repetitive and boring. What do you like to do for fun?

by Anonymous 5 months ago

It changes quite often. One day I'll be programming, drawing, solving puzzles. Only once in a great while I play video games, only when one truly looks intriguing.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

* Well programming is just typing some lines and see if they work the way you want to, once you know the logic it's repetitive. * Drawing is just sandboxing on paper. * Solving puzzles have no replay value, once you know the logic, there is no fun in it anymore. See? You can do that with literally anything.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

Yeah and I get bored of it.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

You might have ADHD dude

by Srath 5 months ago

What did you expect to see? Would you prefer to see someone talk about how "games aren't good anymore" or something else extremely biased?

by Anonymous 5 months ago

one issue is that you are intentionally ignoring the many different aspects of games that contribute to the gameplay. of course when you simplify every gaming genre to just a handful of words, it's going to sound boring and repetitive— but you're purposefully ignoring the fact that almost every game is has some kind of combination of multiple genres to create diversity in gameplay. your frustration sounds like it's just a lack of creativity and short attention span on your end. the other issue is that your argument can be applied to literally everything, and that makes this a question that has little value genuinely discussing because it's so vague and low effort

by Anonymous 5 months ago

Maybe you just don't like video games or you're not creative

by Anonymous 5 months ago

Have you considered that maybe you're just not into gaming?

by Anonymous 5 months ago

You just have to find the right game. For me it was Rocket League. I'm a 35yo Dad and I swear when I play it's like I'm playing 3v3 basketball again as a kid. 2000 hours in, and 0 regrets.

by BarnacleLatter5551 5 months ago

That's why I like Rocket League, it's unlike any other game out there. Only problem is it has hardly any transferable skills so I'm dog water at pretty much any other game, shooters especially

by Anonymous 5 months ago

Sounds like you might just be easily bored. šŸ˜… And have a very simplified view of different types of games.

by Legitimate_Poet 5 months ago

you say interactive fantasy book like its a negative lol

by Dramatic-Fig-5583 5 months ago

OP, you may be depressed… You've made your point, but I suggest you get some help. Seriously.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

Not liking something as much as you used to is not always a sign of depression.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

If you try hard enough, you can look at life like this too. It's not the video games, it's your perspective that's guaranteed to bore you with time, whatever you do.

by MediocreDesign3056 5 months ago

Congratulations, you have discovered genres. Wait till you find out words are just the alphabet mixed around, bet you'll get tired of those too.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

GO OUTSIDE!!!!!

by Dizzy_Ad 5 months ago

Everything is repetitive if you do it more than once.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

If you think a game is only good for a few hours and the price is similar or less than a movie ticket, does that make it easier to consider worth your time and money?

by Remarkable_Hat 5 months ago

Could say the same thing for pretty much everything. This doesn't just apply to gaming.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

That reminds me of books, Movies, Sports, wildlife Photography, Clubbing, Feetivals... And literally everything else you can do in this Universe

Life: live

by Walter17 5 months ago

That's why I only like rocket league. It's not repetitive and you play as a team against another team.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

I'm not a gamer and rarely played, because I felt just like this. That is until Cyberpunk. I get it now. I understand why people love gaming.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

met the love of my life playing games (5 years together now), also met my best friend playing games, it also taught me english and crazy amount of general knowledge, its great for your reflexes, your brain, your creativity, theres a lot that goes into it, honestly this is an extremely black and white take thats seemingly just trying to apply a nihilistic pov to gaming when it doesnt make any sense yeah at the end of the day its "pointless", as is literally everything, why does anyone do anything if we will all just die at some point? its like asking "whats the point of playing basketball when all you do is throw a ball around?", youre alone on this one, its not a good mindset and its not a correct one either

by Independent_Sir_4261 5 months ago

Good for you. I'm not saying video games can never be fun. They can be, it's simply very uncommon for me.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

thats a boredom issue, not a video game issue, your statement was directly claiming that video games are in general boring and repetitive, which isnt true for example, youre calling the act of painting boring and repetitive because you do not enjoy painting, that does not mean painting/art is actually boring, repetitive or useless in any way shape or form, though

by Independent_Sir_4261 5 months ago

Humans are pattern-recognizing machines so find a pattern you enjoy and go for it!

by Anonymous 5 months ago

The same can be said about almost anything. Going to the gym, having a meal, playing tennis. It's all very predictable and repetitive. If you can't find joy in these things (and games) then you must be very hard to entertain.

by No-Mountain 5 months ago

You outgrew gaming, just like many of us. The proper thing to do in your case is to transition from gaming to work that you enjoy. Perhaps it is creating games?

by Anonymous 5 months ago

I stick to a few things. Often, I'll cycle between them.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

You miss out on a lot in life if you stick to the same things. Attention span has nothing to do with it.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

Some times the repetition can be fun. I've been playing Diablo 2 on and off for over 20 years and I still can't enough of it

by ChildhoodFriendly773 5 months ago

Legend of mana would like to have a few words with you.

by Repulsive_Equal3061 5 months ago

you could say this about every single hobby. they're all repetitive. reading, sports, painting and all the others. repetition is kind of the point actually. we do things again and again because we like doing them and we like getting better at them.

by olaf25 5 months ago

Yeah but I have autism and want something repetitive.

by Anonymous 5 months ago

If you don't enjoy it why play at all?

by AdAltruistic8219 5 months ago

Sounds like somebody's burnt out from gaming and needs a break

by shaylee57 5 months ago

So, don't play games. You don't have to.

by Waldogorczany 5 months ago

Video Games are not for you, ok great, look for another hobby

by Weekly-Park-8569 5 months ago

try doing something besides gaming might make it enjoyable again find another hobby? read a book?

by Fabulous_Report_3212 5 months ago

True unpopular opinion. Definitely repetitive, but humans dig patterns. It's kinda our thing.
