How is it not chocolate? One is just more pure than the other, doesn't make it not chocolate.

Yes. Is peanut butter butter? No. Is white chocolate chocolate? Maybe also no if you consider the cococa solids to be the important part. When someone describes a flavour as chocolaty, are you imagining white chocolate?

No, as in I've literally never seen anything to suggest milk chocolate is unpopular among adults. 75% of the chocolate I see sold or advertised anywhere is milk chocolate, and over the past ~20 I've seen hundreds of people eat milk chocolate stuff. Tbf, maybe it depends on the country, and it's just less popular where you live compared to where I live.

I had a recurring nightmare as a child where a goblin man made me eat some dark chocolate to help me down a hill where I had been separated from my class on a school trip. I always wake up at the moment where I look down and I was not eating chocolate, but sweaty socks. Dark chocolate tastes like sweaty socks.

This one is not an opinion its just false or some regional fault. Milk chocolate as well as white chocolate are made with parts of cocoa and are therefor chocolate
