I hate chocolate! amirite?

Chocolate is not sweet, it's bitter. It tends to be sweetened but if you find chocolate to be too sweet then you're probably not reading the right chocolate for you.

I think that depends on the chocolate, though. Dark chocolate is amazing because it's sweet and also bitter. Some milk chocolate is overly sweet and tastes terrible.

Yeah, my point was that if you made chocolate without sweetening it it would be entirely bitter, thankfully humans are smart enough to add some sugar but unfortunately some humans add so much sugar I'd argue it's not even chocolate anymore it's just candy.

Most cocoa is sourced unethically, so good for you if you hate the stuff! 😅 That being said, you should've given a small list of the type of chocolate brands, products, or confections you've tried. For all we know, you've only ever had cheap milk chocolate like a Hershey's bar.

You have never had good chocolate. American chocolate is horrible- low cocoa fat and very sweet and waxy with a nasty aftertaste. Try Belgian chocolate from Callebaut.

Most chocolates are too sweet I'll agree. But they don't have sugar flavour. Cocoa has flavour. Try a 80-90% cocoa chocolate or just pure cocoa in hot water to sense the taste
