Chewy Cookies are unappealing (especially Chips Ahoy) amirite?

The only commercial choco chip cookies I like are the crispy tates bakery ones in the green packaging. Which is funny bc I normally hate crunchy cookies. Chewy homemade chocolate chip cookies are my jam.

I agree they just don't taste the same as a normal cookie. The Chips Ahoy chunky chocolate chip cookies taste great, though.

I remember when "Soft Batch" came out in the 80s. They tasted like chemicals back then, too.

There's something in the store bought cookies that are yucky. Chewy homemade ones are delicious. This actually applies to all texture of store cookies to home made cookies. I don't buy cookies, ever. (also I haven't been baking either, somebody come make me some cookies!)

The argument of "homemade is better" is moot. Of course it's better. Put a chips ahoy cookie in the microwave for 5 seconds and it's amazing.

It's a weird flip. Mass produced snack cookies like Chips Ahoy: Crunchy good, chewy bad. Actual, proper cookies: Chewy good, crunchy bad.

Are Chips Ahoy actually food? Last time I had one, probably fifteen years ago, it tasted like pure chemicals. I'd read those ingredients before eating one.
