+112 I hate when impatient drivers try to turn left on green while in the middle of the street, waiting to go. Like really? You couldn't just wait behind the line where you're supposed to? amirite?

First Person = FAIL

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually (in my state at least), one person is allowed in front of the line and everyone else has to be behind it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually its against the law not to do that, I failed my first road test bc of that

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its called claiming the intersection, and I get pissed when people don't do it hahahha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Same with me. And I mean really, most people do actually do this, don't know why there aren't more NWs

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I just took drivers ed and am in the middle of behind the wheel and were taught to do that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@432486 (Anonymous): I was taught that you were to pull into the intersection so if the light were to turn yellow you would still be able to make the turn instead of waiting forever because all of the jackass drivers nowadays would never let you go.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When you have a green light you can enter the intersection to make a left turn, it's the correct way of driving not impatience.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're supposed to do it. That way, when the light turns yellow or there is a break in traffic, you'll be able to complete the turn with as little disruption to others in the intersection.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't know where you are from, but where I live, you'd fail your licensing test if you don't do that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You obviously don't drive. If you did, you'd know that's basically the only way to get out there and complete your left turn. You're supposed to do that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know everyone else already pointed it out, BUT... you are supposed to, so when the light turns red, if you still haven't had a chance to go, you can go then

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What's really annoying is when you're in the intersection and the light turns yellow but cars are still passing through so you have to turn when the lights red

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yellow lights technically mean "Clear the Intersection". Pulling into the intersection allows you to prepare to make a left turn on that yellow if it's too busy on the green.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im guessing the people who agree with this don't drive or don't have that law in their state.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I actually failed my driver's test because it's illegal in my state.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wow, that sucks...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why is this post positively rated? .-.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't know where you guys live but where I live if you even dream about turning left on yellow the cops are on you so fast it looks like you committed a felony.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This post is a fail -_-

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Where I live you're supposed to do that to turn left. It's taking possession of the intersection. Although I don't think you'd be ticketed if you didn't do it, there's definitely nothing illegal or impatient about doing it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how could anybody ever turn left if they had to wait behind the line?? there would be no time to.. the breaks in traffic are very slim

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is how it is in Texas

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If the first car doesn't pull out, then one less car gets through the light, and that could be you. It's illegal not to pull out.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's what she said ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was taught that it's simply a courtesy to other drivers...if you pull forward, then the cars behind you are able to drive around you and don't have to wait forever.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And for those turning left on a solid green light, it just creates a bigger chance for one to get hit. Just wait until it's completely clear and then you can turn!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Are you stupid? You're more likely to get into an accident if you try to turn left from behind the line in the time it takes between the yellow and red light. It's far safer to wait in intersection.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i know in illinois you're suppose to pull up but i heard youre not suppose to in missouri so i think its a state to state thing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I live in New York and you're supposed to pull into the intersection during a green light to make a left turn. Only in New York City I believe it's illegal (not sure maybe its just frowned upon) because yellow lights are treated like red lights because it's so busy you can't be caught in the intersection when the light changes.
