"Sharing is caring" is a garbage phrase that's meaningless among young children. amirite?

It's kind of ridiculous to compare kids in kindergarten learning the idea of sharing being good with fully grown adults and their own phone. Not really the idea there

Is it their stuff? Than they don‘t need to share. Did they picked it first from the communal pool and are actually using it? Then they don‘t need to share. As simple as that.

It's almost as if children have a very limited understanding of morality and it's your and the parents' job to teach them the very thing you're talking about here. Because I assure you, most people don't view what you're describing as "sharing is caring."

The adult bought the toys so if the adult says you gotta share, you better share buddy

I agree. It's manipulative. I mean, the flipside is "Not sharing is not caring."

Right so what you're fundamentally saying is that a human being has learnt a phrase and twisted it in meaning to get what they want ? Like most people will do at some point in their lives. The concept that I care about you and so I am sharing something with you is perfectly sensible. The fact that a child thinks it's a magical button that lets you take someone else's stuff is a failure to educate. You should punish the kids that use the phrase in such an abusive fashion

Agreed! Forceful sharing breeds entitlement and resentment. I always handle it by asking my kids before we have other kids over if they would like to keep some toys aside because they wouldn't like to share them. In the moment if they're having a conflict about sharing, I've taught them to communicate clearly like 'I'm playinf with this now and I'll be done in 5 minutes, then I'll hand it to you'. Doesn't work all the time but it's good skills to practice

My kids did this until my oldest broke out... them- sharing is caring. her- caring is dead. This is irrefutable proof that greed is a mental illness.

It is a stupid saying and has no place being taught. Why should a kid that is playing with a toy give it up just because another does not have it. Nonsense.

Welp i think that 'punching in the face when an adult does it' applies to a lot of things kids do. Like hiding your keys or pissing in a shoe..
