+51 Rapists are Worse than Murderers, amirite?

by Rennerstanton 5 days ago

"which gives them an exit rather than a world of torture" "rapists should just be killed" I find it interesting that you feel that murder allows the victim an "escape" but simultaneously seem to believe the death penalty to be the ultimate punishment.

by Neither-Pangolin 5 days ago

That type of thinking only makes sense if you fully buy into the retributivist theory of punishment.

by Neither-Pangolin 5 days ago

Honestly it's disgusting that you'd say that

by Rennerstanton 5 days ago

You just called out for having backwards logic and now it's disgusting?

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Which part?

by Neither-Pangolin 5 days ago

We can hate rapists without being idiots about it

by Anonymous 5 days ago

No we really can't.

by Rennerstanton 5 days ago

Erm no, ending a life early is definitely worse

by Tamiakeebler 5 days ago

I see the angle of "Theres such thing as murder in self defense", which makes murder more "justifiable" But I think speaking like this is a way that will pull victims deeper into their trauma There is life and love and joy after an assault And it's a wonderful thing to survive

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I think ending someone's life for good is far worse to be honest.

by AffectionateFile 5 days ago

Not sure if this makes sense, but I think rapists are worse people than murderers but murder is still a worse action.

by Acrobatic_Ant 5 days ago

I think what Brock Turner did was a far worse action than what Luigi Mangione did.

by Baumbachhailee 5 days ago

Depends on the reason, some who who kills out of sadism is probably worst but some who kill out of responsible revenge (for example one of those parents who kill there kids rapist/murders) probably better

by Pgutmann 5 days ago

I feel like most people probably agree with that but the confusing nature of that alone makes the punishment for these crimes that much harder

by Anonymous 5 days ago

No that doesn't make sense tbh

by Limp_Yak4263 5 days ago

Mmmm... Nah, I gotta go with murder being worse.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

This is difficult, because victims most often plead "whatever you do, just don't kill me".

by Anonymous 5 days ago

How do you know this 🧐

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I used to study this stuff for class "gender justice " or something like that

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I don't understand how we can proportionally compare which wicked action is worse than the other wicked action lmao

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Why must we choose?

by Existing-Fishing 5 days ago

Nothing is worse than ending someone else's life

by funkyasmin 5 days ago

;] itsa not me

by Rennerstanton 5 days ago

Well then you're of the opinion that life in prison is worse than the death penalty.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Suffering isn't really a contest.

by Ebertbrandi 5 days ago

it is usually

by Rennerstanton 5 days ago

To who?

by Ebertbrandi 5 days ago

If controlling someones body is worse than murder then rapist should spend their life in prison and murderers should be killed, cuz prison is worse than being killed following ur logic

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I disagree on a wider level. Murderer in terms of someone who kills? Yes Murderer in the sense of a serial killer? Yes Murderer in the sense of sending people to their deaths or genocidal maniacs? No

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I feel that way about pedos.

For me like once we get to prison we have maxed out on the punishment severity most places do not have capital punishment anymore. If we did Capital Punishment is a cost saving measure not an increase in severity. once we have decided someone deserves to spend the rest of their natural life in prison without hope of parole or good behavior bond we have basically deemed them "Unsalvageable" as a human being and that is the point at which we should kill them. (because a firing squad is less expensive than 50 years in prison.) That being said the irreversible nature of Execution is one of the primary reasons many countries have discarded it. Its to hard to be absolutely sure you got the right guy.
