Cold water and ice machines are necessary in foodservice. Your consumption of either has zero impact in the grand scheme of things. 😅

I like room temperature water the best any time of year, so I agree. I usually ask for water with no ice, but even then it can be way too cold when they serve it.

It's simple, you just ask for water with no ice 😀

I do but it's often STILL cold — and places like Shake Shack serve freezing-cold water on tap

I could write the inverse of this, I can never get a glass of water cold enough when I'm abroad and it makes me miserable 🙃 So I suppose in any place, restaurants will cater to the norm, not the exception. You can try and ask for a cup of hot water (like for tea) and then mix them. I had a friend who used to do this.

Then go fill up your water in the bathroom sink

I only drink ice cold water.

....are you chewing the water? Why is it even touching your teeth?

by Material_Hospital 1 month ago

I chew every sip of water 21 times before swallowing. My grandfather died from drowning and I don't want the same to happen to me.

The ice touches my teeth when I drink it, and it's unavoidable often times bc the cubes are so big

Use a straw?

If you are in the USA, you can say you have teeth sensitivities and ask for a glass of tap water.

by ashleebode 1 month ago

You don't have to say you have sensitive teeth. Just ask for the tap water.

I prefer to only drink ice water. Season doesn't matter. I find tepid water to be a poor taste, and less refreshing. My teeth don't care. I also eat ice cream year-round.

Wrong. Ice cold water should not be served when you are overheated in the summer months

If it hurts you then you need to visit your dentist. Stronger temps hurting your teeth is a sign you need some work done.
