+37 I think The Walking Dead was one of the worst programs on television. amirite?

The comic series, while following a similar pattern, has much better pacing and feels more natural than the show, I'd strongly recommend it. But also, what do you expect out of a mostly realistic zombie apocalypse show? They're running from zombies, settling down places, and fighting against other groups. There's not really much else you can do with that concept.

I don't expect anything. I just lost interest and watched something else.

They could learn to herd zombies around using remotely triggered loud sounds instead of always bumping against a car, setting off the alarm and attracting all the zombies to them every time they do a supply run.

This was almost my exact experience. I quit after S2. I've heard it gets better, but that's a low bar.

S1 and 2 are peak. It only gets slow at like season 6 and the drags like a cat on the carpet

I cannot believe this show has such a following. That second season of a bunch of whiny bitches residing on a farm killed me. I couldn't even finish it. What ended the show for me was when they went out looking for gas and drained a 10,000 gallon tanker for a minimal amount of fuel instead of just taking the whole damn truck.

It's cuz the comic is that good. If the show was an original, it wouldn't have lasted. The comic is amazing

Ahh the built in audience. Why Disney sucks Harrison ford dry at any chance

I've honestly never seen him not be compelling in something. Even when the writing sucked, and the other characters were flat, Bernthal's characters alway popped off the screen. Walking Dead included.

Feels like a drama show with a zombie backdrop

I think.... you just don't enjoy the genre. Which is fine. And if you do, maybe it's just a bit too long running. Go for Dawn of the Dead or 28 days later etc you may find the shorter story form more interesting.

The comic book was excellent. The show SUUUCKED by comparison. It had its moments, but every time it strayed from the source material, it got dumber and dumber. Characters that should have died didn't, characters that shouldn't have died did, so they had to use other characters to fulfill storylines and it really just made the whole show worse. I watched it for an embarrassingly long time before I gave up on it, but by the time I did, the show was unrecognizable.

People complained about Glen dying but that was canon. What WAS NOT supposed to happen was Carl dying.... I kind of mentally signed off a bit when that happened since in the comics he is one of the very few, along with Negan, to still be around and prosperous.

The worst season on televisions.... Wow, what high standards.

It was a bad show considering its popularity in relation to other shows. Of course it isn't the worst program ever.

It started to falter heavily once they booted Darabont.

It was great for a couple of seasons ... And then you grow up and grow out of zombies.

Yup, first season was interesting enough with the ads and cliffhangers. Second, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th. 7th, spinoff 1, 2, 3 are absolute trash. What garbage.

The only redeemable quality was that the kid who played Carl used to come in where I worked and we'd all yell CAAAAARRLLLLL 😫😫😫😫😫 he hated that. Fun times.

The first season? I didn't make it through the first episode.

Nah Ice Cube was responsible for some trash in the 90s called Black & White. I'm currently trying to erase it from my brain.

Google is a great place to start

I gave up on season 2, as well. I also am not a fan of Bernthal.

If you're interested, I think the graphic novels handle the story much better. Most importantly the pacing is tight and crisp- no 40 minute episodes where nothing happens.
