Totally agree. I'm sick of people racing up in my blind spot on the sidewalk. If you're doing 30mph, Do it in the road with a license so you know what you're doing

Where I am the eBikes have to share the road with cars, can't go on footpaths, and need to follow road rules

That's all I ask. Where are you, roughly? If you don't mind saying.

Mopeds are treat as motor vehicles in my state. The reason was weird though. They didn't want people with DUIs using them to "get around the law." Which essentially ended up with, people who are already alcoholics being unable to get to work and completely falling off the rails.

Too bad for them. They should sober up and quit drinking and further making a mess of their lives. And yeah, I've been there, so speaking from experience.

I don't disagree, but removing their means to get to work seems like a backwards step in that pursuit.

Hardship licenses are granted regularly across the country. People on their 3rd DUI or those that don't want to get a breathalyzer shouldn't be allowed to get a moped to skirt rules. Your take is the unpopular opinion.
