Half the opinions on here speak without any knowledge or experience. Big difference between saying and actually doing.

"Hey guys, actually the commonly held opinion about a place I've never been to is totally wrong"

That's what I've heard and I'm inclined to believe it. I moved to Ft Lauderdale in 2011 and I know north of me is pretty crazy..but no crazier than the Midwest..just wirh alligators

Was hoping to hear someone say this. There are nut jobs in every state, we just hear about them more often in some of them.

I think I seldom or never heard this stereotype when I was younger. Probably these stories are more easily disseminated with the internet.

NY is just more densely-populated. FLA definitely has a higher percentage of guano people per capita.

Florida gets known because of he government transparency laws. Every police report is public record, the cover sheet is often hanging on a clipboard in the front office for journalists, bloggers, and lawyers to check.

Most Florida man stories are actually displaced yankees

The real question is why the best city in Florida is Tampa

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Tampa should've been the capital

by julius91 1 month ago

It's just that they have laws that require all the police reports be published, so "Florida Man does something crazy" is the go-to story for journalists if there's a deadline looming and nothing else ready.

You have no idea. The problem is there is a high population that move there to do nothing. I.e. the florida men. Then the entire east coast uses it to get away from winter for a weekend and get drunk in the sun. Add its a swamp or desert and was never naturally inhabitated by people for a reason lol.

Shhhh don't tell them please.

It's because we publish all of our crimes before they are found guilty and we have gators, snakes and a high drug culture it's not crazier than California it's we have crazy nature here.

I've seen water spouts from hurricanes, it is a wild place just geographically too lol

I visited in 2017 and have a pretty good time, Although I have not visited any other US states and probably wont for a long time (I would like to visit the US again though).

Having been to Florida was ... interesting. Stepping out of the airport, you were greeted by a thick wall of warm, super humid air. On the way to our house, we were greeted by a tornado flying straight by. If this wasn't impressive enough already, then it definitely was the reaction of the cab driver, who handled it as business as usual.

Los Angeles would like to have a word. Ain't nowhere else in the world does the crazy homeless person turn out to be a millionaire and you don't notice until they step into their lifted G wagon 4x4

Ain't no crocodiles in flerda. But it is pretty normal. Just hot.

Apparently there is! There was a recent video from an Everglades national parking showing an alligator and crocodile fighting.
