most anyone who knows cars, know that teslas are made poorly, they're over engineered in a lot of strange places, their build quality is terrible (but that's also the same for most cars these days) and they're not very "fix yourself friendly." Theres also a lot of evidence to show that even though they're electric, they're not that much better for the environment. It takes a lot of polluting to make those big batteries

They are just ok. Nothing special, but not bad either. Overpriced, though, compared to other EVs. EVs aren't as clean as they are advertised. They may be less polluting once produced (assuming power plants aren't coal-fired), but production process of batteries isn't as clean as people believe. There's a LOT of waste.

They also have bad gap tolerances and have a few other issues (for example there drive assist not having a LIDAR)

Their self navligation systems are really dangerous, they don't work on snow or ice, their batteries explode in the heat and they only go so far without a recharge, which is more of a problem because do many chargers have been vandalized. Other than that. . .

electric cars are better for climate than normal ones no? Depending on where you get your electricity, maybe not. I'd be willing to bet that most people who drive electric cars are simply offsetting the pollution to a regular power plant somewhere else.
