Do you know how much the value of electric vehicles drops immediately after driving off the lot? You will be upside down on your loan for a long time unless you put a huge amount down on it. I doubt most people can just sell the tesla and have enough to pay off the loan.

The main ones footing the bill here are the insurance companies, so the main result will be that premiums go up. If someone's Tesla gets destroyed, there's a decent chance they take their insurance money and get another Tesla, so ultimately it's just lining Elon's pocket even more If I'm missing something here, someone please point it out, this is the first I'm even hearing about any of this, but this is how that plays out in my head

Most people who drive a Tesla are probably good people. The reason why Tesla drivers are my enemies is because they drive like absolute maniacs on the road. Granted, it's not all of them. But if I see a Tesla in traffic, I'm assuming a much higher danger level and will take extra precautions. They drive in the middle of the road, they drive like they're big trucks needing a lot of space to turn, they thinkt that extra acceleration is enough to burst onto a road at cross sections, and they refer to their car as "the Tesla" instead of just calling it the car. That's enough toake this millennial go "Oof!". They're also very poorly built. Struggle with cold weather, and they don't actually look that good. Do I have friends with these cars? Yes. Are they happy with their car? 80% aren't. Tesla drivers aren't my enemy ideologically, they're my enemy traffically.

How about if it's paid off or you have payments and are underwater on it? The dealerships? Yeah go after them.
