+30 String cheese/cheese sticks are a product absolutely no one needs and is a complete scam, amirite?

Convenience is value in it's own right

by kolekessler 1 month ago

The kids can open them, but they can't use a knife yet.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Okay. But no one has a cheese wire, and my kid can easily open them. It's actually much more convenient, which is why there is a market for them.

Then pick up a cheese slicer next time you're at the store. $5 for endless cheese slices

by Anonymous 1 month ago

No thanks! I'm not looking for solutions to problems I don't have.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Precisely what I would say about cheese sticks lmfao

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Sorry to hear about your problems, must suck for you I guess?

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I don't have any problem. I slice my cheese

by Anonymous 1 month ago

The product is not for you. it's for people looking for convenience for their lives. Calling it a scam is weird cause by that logic all convenience products would be scams. Also, when you are busy with family and the kids, if you can save 2 minutes, you will take it.

by Educational_Gene_325 1 month ago

Wait. Your solution is to give a kid a cheese slicer? You don't have kids, do you? I agree that no one over the age of 7 needs string cheese. People over 7 aren't the target market. You are missing the point of string cheese

by korbinhayes 1 month ago

I think you're overcomplicating how easy it is to slice cheese and wash two dishes alongside every other dish you're already washing

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I think you're over simplifying how much work it is to do that when you can literally skip all of those steps with a string cheese.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

String cheese is the most superior solo way to eat cheese. There is no good way to get the size pieces from cutting a slice of cheese and the texture is nice.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I never said that at all. If you're planning to go out and think you'll need a snack, you can just slice a bit of cheese and put it in a baggie. I feel you're being a bit obtuse

Truly unpopular opinion

by Anonymous 1 month ago

a scam how? theres nothing misleading or dishonest about plastic wrapped cheese lol.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

He probably thinks babybels are a scam too.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I think the price of babybels is a bit of a scam but they're so good, I can't really die on that hill.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I don't think you know what the word ‘scam' means.

And what if I'm switching trains at the train station, and because I have a few minutes to spare and a sudden craving for a snack, I go to the little shop there, and decide that I'm in the mood for cheese? Am I supposed to buy an entire cheese wheel?

Who hurt you?

some people are not capable of cutting or have some of the tools you mentioned. I have knives, but do not own a shredder or grater.

by NothingTasty3415 1 month ago

That's crazy pre shredded cheese is garbage. Plastic coated In Tapioca powder.. taste weird and doesn't melt the same. Please get a grater.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

maybe to you, but I love it. I know someone who sliced a finger off with a slicer, so no thank you.

by NothingTasty3415 1 month ago

With a cheese grater that's litterally impossible, also no they cut the tip off their finger with a slicer not the whole things. And yes I worked in kitchens I've seen it happen a few times. Thing is they make this thing called a gaurd and a cutting glove. It makes it completely safe. I've used for decades and only cut my self once. Then used cutting gloves and never did again. I guess if you like the taste and texture of pre grated cheese then go for it. I've always like freash shredded cheese.

I refuse to believe anyone has cut off a finger with a bog standard cheese slicer. It's a bit if wire with a handle lmao As for "People don't own those things", most grocery stores now sell kitchen products. It would cost to maybe $15 to get a cheese cutter and a grater next time you go and you would likely never need to replace them.

It's a kids food, marketed towards kids.

Dominos stuffed crust

I recently discovered mideastern string cheese. It comes in a twisted hank and the cheese strands are a couple of feet long. It's much more satisfying and more fun to eat

by Mammoth_Clock 1 month ago

Don't care, it's yummy

by Quick-Penalty956 1 month ago

heh. you called it cheese.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Industrial sludge.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

It's really not. It's just mozzarella.

by Lester06 1 month ago

String cheese is salt water and rennet. So gross.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

No it isn't. It's mozzarella cheese, that's been heated and stretched. That's it. The stretching lines the milk proteins up so that it peels in strands rather then chunks like regular mozzarella.
