-40 Reclining your seat on a plane is EXTREMELY rude, amirite?

by Roelcrooks 1 month ago

They paid for the space the chair moves back into, just like you paid for the space behind you for your chair to lean back into.

People who roll coal in their trucks should be able to as well. They paid for the gas, right?

PERFECT example. Cheers!

Wrong

Omg this debate is still going on 😆 take it up with plane manufacturers. I'm using the full functionality of my seat. You do you tho

Most domestic first class flights are normal seats, just larger and only 1 or 2 in a row.

by Fluffy_Bookkeeper 1 month ago

I don't think they know what first class actually is, maybe thinking of like whatever the step down is.

People can't see behind them. If seats can recline, why wouldn't they use them? It's more of a problem with commercial plane design, not users.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

If it was a problem...Plane seats wouldn't be designed to do this.

Planes suck and I'm trying to be as comfortable as I can. That said, I always recline, but slowly in case the persons tray table is down. It's really no one else's problem that you or anyone else gets so triggered when they're using a function of the seat they paid for.

by Fluffy_Bookkeeper 1 month ago

Thank you for doing it slowly.

by Roelcrooks 1 month ago

it definitely isn't

by Anonymous 1 month ago

It depends. Short flight, hard agree. Long flight, everybody should recline together after the meal. Some airlines even tell you when it's cool to do this.

by Similar-Sell-4630 1 month ago

It's a 2h10m flight. Pretty rude.

by Roelcrooks 1 month ago

Ok I'm with you on that.

by Similar-Sell-4630 1 month ago

I'd start taking a bus.

I don't do it, but if the person in front of me asks politely, I've no problem with it. I don't see the point personally, especially on a short flight, but I appreciate that everyone has their reasons and don't consider someone doing it rude, if they're courteous about it. But just trusting your seat back without having the decency to first check with the person behind you? Yeah, major dick move.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

You want people to…ask if they can recline their seat? I'm assuming you don't mean literally and you're just referring to a quick heads up.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Of course - I mean a quick, most-basic-level-of-courtesy heads-up.

This app is all text based, I can only go off of the literal words written here Mr. 69 🤧

by Anonymous 1 month ago

My bad, dude - my reply was unnecessarily snippy when I was the one who'd made it unclear. Sorry about that. Yeah, you're right - just a basic acknowledgment of the person there, which I don't think is unreasonable.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Of course - I'm not hoping for anything beyond basic acknowledgment that the person behind you is there.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I'm reclining my seat like God intended and pretending the person behind me doesn't exist. Sorry champ, should've sprung for the legroom throne instead of the peasant row.

by Main_Excitement 1 month ago

You're kind of a dick :)

by Roelcrooks 1 month ago

You're the one telling people what to do with their expensive seats.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

i have always agreed with this

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Thank you.

by Roelcrooks 1 month ago

Nope. I just flew to/from the UK, ~8+ there and ~9+ back. No way on this freaking planet am I not reclining my seat to nap for a few hours each way.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

It is absolutely bonkers that people don't even check what's behind them before pulling that mess. I was crocheting on a plane and got my wrists banged on from someone reclining in front of me. I made sure to loudly drop my hook and cuss lol. They sat back up no question. That's best case scenario.

by bednarpeggie 1 month ago

I'm dissapointed they put their seat back up, I would've gone to sleep reclined.

by Main_Excitement 1 month ago

Honestly makes me mad that they sat their seat back up, the best case scenario is someone with headphones in and continuing to use the seat they paid for.
