+41 I think Incredibles 1 and 2 would be significantly better if they were rated R or PG-13. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Right, kids should be allowed to explore some of these heavier themes without making it completely unwatchable or inappropriate for them.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Okay! I like that too, kinda like how Toy Story incorporated so many raunchy jokes into their movies lol.

Not everything has to be ultraviolent, I'm so sick of the "it has to be violent, dark, depressing or contain nudity" to be mature.

by WestEggplant1175 1 month ago

I think maybe more on the side of expanding and acknowledging some of the terrifying themes featured that push it to the edge of PG to PG-13.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Why lol, is violence the only thing that gives you dopamine anymore?

by Alarmed_Variety_6027 1 month ago

The whole "superheroes but it's really gory" phase is so overdone dude, let that phase die out.

by Alarmed_Variety_6027 1 month ago

Fair enough, thank you for your opinion to my opinion.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Aw, I still want that tho

by CharacterAlfalfa 1 month ago

So just Watchmen then?

by Nicholas29 1 month ago

Probably, I haven't seen it lol

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Incredibles is practically a What If movie based on "What if Watchmen was a family film suitable for all ages?"

by Nicholas29 1 month ago

Ohhhh. I'll have to check it out! Thank you! 😁

by Anonymous 1 month ago

It's a classic graphic novel and a serviceable film. The HBO series is a sequel so don't go that route Hope it's got what you're looking for

Thank you so much!

They are kids movies that happen to deal with adult more themes, so they should be appropriate for kids. Presently the movies did a great job presenting those adult themes in a way that kids can handle and digest. Excessive violence or gore really wouldn't anything to story and would take away from the fun child friendly feel.

by mcculloughlurli 1 month ago

I'm not saying excessive gore, I'm thinking more expanding on the characters traumas, acknowledging it, and acknowledging the genuine terror of the situations the Parr family are thrown into

I actually rewatched Incredibles 1 earlier this week! I forgot what an incredible movie it is! (Pun wasn't intended but I'm going to leave it there)

by Cierra35 1 month ago

Yes! My little sisters (4 and 7) are currently OBSESSED with the movies lol

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Have you realised when the first one came out and how old it makes you feel when you realise!

by Cierra35 1 month ago

My sisters do that for me no problem 🥲

by Anonymous 1 month ago

The emphasis on family is just as if not more important to the plot than all those things.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

That too! If there were more scenes of the family interacting and hanging out, as kids and parents, it could work out also!

You know you can just search for Elastigirl on here, right?

by kennedischumm 1 month ago

I made that mistake once...never again will I search up Elastigirl

by Anonymous 1 month ago

What kind of deranged maniac wants R-rated Incredibles but no Rule 34 Elastigirl?

by kennedischumm 1 month ago

Not that, I don't mind the R34 but when I want to find a drawing reference for my CHILD sisters, and I get just R34, that's a problem 😭

by Anonymous 1 month ago

So you want less discretion... Of course.

by sblick 1 month ago

Yeah! Not an excessive amount, but maybe a LITTLE less.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Hansel and Gretel were lead into the wild and abandoned by their parents to die because of a great famine. Pretty dark yet a fairy tale for kids. The rating makes it better? i don't know.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Check out the Netflix Hansel and Gretel series...one of the kids cuts off her finger on screen. It's a PG show.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

another rating wouldn't make it better?

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Definitely not- But it was pretty terrifying to my toddler sisters lol

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Are you saying the movies as they are should have been rated that way, or that they should have amped up the violence, maybe added some swearing until they reached those ratings? If it's the first one, children's films have often been one kind of screwed up or another so. Bambi they're forcing kids to think of their mom and therefore any parent dying. Parents dying in kids' movies is pretty common really. All Dogs Go To Heaven had imagery of a dog in Hell. Incredibles was pretty tame compared to previous movies. If you mean the latter thing, it was fine as is.

by Little-Obligation522 1 month ago

I think if they had changed up the rating, added swear words on occasion, maybe a few extra scars on the characters, it could have been something awesome! It could have made some scenes more real, more anxiety inducing than they already were

by Anonymous 1 month ago

nope. it would have made the films much worse.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Maybe, thank you though!

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Yes! Especially considering it was Samuel Jackson, if they had just let him cuss a TINY bit, it would've been hysterical!

by Anonymous 1 month ago

First film was a masterpiece as is. I wouldn't change it. Only change I'd make for the second is for it to have not been made

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I mean...fair enough lol

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I was on the internet and I saw what must have been x-rated outakes from those films.

by ronratke 1 month ago

I think we should go back to a world where children are understood to be able to handle mature themes presented properly

by Anonymous 1 month ago

2010's kids movies and shows constantly teeter tattered on the edge of PG and PG-13, I loved that so much.
