Hyperfixating on hairloss/hair graying is stupid and vain. amirite?

Having the opinion that fixating or worrying about it is stupid? That's totally fair. But when someone says something like, "I just don't get why people fixate on these things," I'm always shocked at how oblivious and clueless some people can be. You just don't get why people feel anxious about seeing visible signs of ageing? Really?

And they can't understand that media and just the world has spent over 100 years making balding the butt of jokes. Like it's very obvious why balding is considered a negative.

It's human nature to have anxiety about aging. The older you get, the closer you get to becoming weaker, more susceptible to illness, less sexually desirable, less noticed or respected (in the US), and ultimately closer to death. The visible signs of age, including graying, hair loss, wrinkles, weight gain, etc stress people out and it might seem superficial or vain, but that's the deeper psychological reason for it. I don't see why it matters. Let people do what makes them feel better. Life is short. Might as well do what makes you happy while you're living it.

Actually the idea of sex scares me. All the vulnerability, having to please and be good at it. Children are lucky, then you grow up and the world is like lose your virginity already

People can know that it's silly and vain and still struggle to get over it. Anxiety is often irrational. Knowing that doesn't make it go away. You could try to be more sympathetic.

"Could care less" means you do care at least a little, as there is the possibility of caring even less. "Could not care less" means you do not care at all as there is not any state you cared less than now Just fyi
